I hope you will give that 1 when we start windows VPS hosting. anonymous reseller hosting is close to impossible when you host your website on a shared server as intelligent customers will track origin of hosting using the domain name.

Some other hosting companies use certain domains for hostnames of reseller hosting servers but customers can simply type those domains in google to find all talk on those hostnames. No matter what whois information you display on a domain but when you have multiple reseller hosting servers then you cannot stop things from getting listed in google.

You mean like this forum gets indexed in Google?? Yeah! I agree with you.

It is not possible to hide, but it is possible to run...er..be a proxy.

An anonymous domain, and having its nameservers to those of the datacenter would help a lot. We don't need such setup always, but many a times we have to. In "normal" way, a single step would disclose the real Service provider, but with anonymous setup, it would take 3 or 4 digs to find the real provider.

It is very difficult to rationalize my requirement, I admit.

Tough yes, impossible no. It will benefit you in the long run.

BTW, Removing the fullname will work with POP but not with SMTP I think, as per the RFC. Mail servers may reject mail if the hostname returned in HELO is incorrect/malformed.

Waiting to release the three quarters...
