Default eurofighter slow

I noticed a thread below ending "issue sorted thread closed" well i have been on to customer support chat several times this week regarding the same hanging problem with plesk and my website being slow at times, plesk has just been restarted by one of the chat guys but it is still slow. My website has been up and down several times this week and i have spent hours trying to get it sorted and is the reason i have joined this forum.
The issue is beyond my control, i have a 20 meg connection, 3 clean computers at home and one at my work that have all been showing a defect with the eurofighter service.
Yes i have opened a ticket, and this thread is my way of covering all options to get this issue sorted asap.

Cheers Steve B

Cheers Nickj. I just logged to my c/p to retrive the ticket number and it was a breeze but i am not holding my breath for it to remain like that.
Ticket number 45 and the website i am concerned about most is sodyellowpages.com

You seem to have opened a ticket from the Plesk CP itself. Please can you open a ticket with 'windows [at] eukhost.com' or from our helpdesk at http://support.eukhost.com.

I personally hate that rotating wheel associated with Plesk Control panel but there's no such solution to improve speed of plesk.

From next month onwards we will be separating MSSQL Servers as our windows system admins want MSSQL to run from separate server which should be in LAN with the webserver.

.................................................. .................................................. ............................
Please wait for a website operator to respond.

You are now chatting with 'Alfred'

steve burfield: hi alfred

Alfred: Hello Steve

Alfred: How may I assist you today?

steve burfield: http://www.sodyellowpages.com/

steve burfield: http://sodyellowpages.com/

steve burfield: not working correctly (again)

Alfred: ok

Alfred: Allow me a moment for checking

steve burfield: http://www.sodyellowpages.com/about_us.html

steve burfield: working ok

Alfred: The above website which you have given is working at my end

Alfred: http://sodyellowpages.com/

steve burfield: it is working here now too

Alfred: Could you please check it once again ?

steve burfield: why not 5 mins ago??

Alfred: what is the problem

Alfred: ?

steve burfield: it was a blank page on the non www version

Alfred: Yes that's right

steve burfield: it should work surley

steve burfield: it wasnt working 5 mins ago yet it is now,,why?

Alfred: I have restart the IIS service on server that's why you were not able to access your website before 5 mins ago

steve burfield: it is the third time this week

Alfred: ok

steve burfield: what happened i havent touched anything

steve burfield: why does it stop

steve burfield: is it stopped manually or tapered with?

Alfred: I will take care it further

steve burfield: i need to know

Alfred: is that fine for you ?

steve burfield: no

steve burfield: ok alfred, i will take the issue further,,thanks for your help anyway

steve burfield: why was it stopped!

Alfred: i will take care it further

Alfred: i will not happen again

steve burfield: does it only affect my site

Alfred: no

steve burfield: cheers alfred
.................................................. .................................................. ..........................

As you can see alfred restarted the IIS server, now what i need to know is. why was this service stopped, was it a coincidence that i happened to ask for support at the same time some installation work had finished, why arent we informed of work in progress which will affect your service to us, will it happen again?

cheers Steve

Normally a service is restarted after an update or after the service has stopped unexpectedly - which happens from time to time on any server and normally only takes a couple of minutes to restart.

Notifying you of a service restart would be pretty pointless because it would take a lot more minutes to send out an email than it would to actually complete the job! - therefore keeping your website down for 10-15 mins rather than 3-4 mins.
Also, by the time the e-mail gets to you the restart would be completed

So it was a co-incidence that i have logged on and asked for support at the very same time work was completed.

Steve
Plesk on Eurofighter seems to have had intermittent problems over the past couple of weeks. I will ask for the state of this service to be monitored for you.

I cannot confirm that. It may not be a conincidence. I cannot answer your question as I do not have access to the relevant information.

What my previous post was stating was that in your previous post you stated the reason given to you for your websites downtime was a simple service restart. And a service restart generally takes no more than a few minutes.

Hope that helps .

I could be an issue with the server as said previously but now tech support are monitoring it even more closely than usual, if it goes down, it should be rectified pretty quickly.

I had a similar problem on a linux server a few weeks back with the website becoming unavailable but everything else working. In that case it was because the service didn't restart itself but tech support got to the bottom of it in the end.

I recently had a problem with my apache service not restarting correctly but that was sorted the first time it happened so these problems are normally sorted very fast.

I got a bit worried seeing this thread open but a sigh for relief after reading the actual post by burfieldstuff.

Thanks for taking your time for updating the thread. Very few would care to do it after almost 50 days.
