Need for Zend

I intend to use whoiscart rather than ModernBill, , but for that I need Zend Optimiser and Curl compiled with OpenSSL support.

Zend is included in the reseller features list, but does not seem to be installed, at least, that's what their diagnostics pack reports. Could that please be installed? (woolconet.com)

Are there other features on the list that are only installed on request?

Regarding Curl, I have ordered SSL, so when that comes through will that solve the OpenSSL support requirement, or what action would I need to take to compile it?

Zend is already installed on the server as I have created a phpinfo file in your account which shows that Zend is already installed on the server.

I have also verified php modules and Curl as well as openssl are already compiled with php so you should not face any problem with setup of whoiscart.

I would like to know how whoiscart works for you as our customers keep on questioning about a good billing system for hosting accounts management and we recommend modernbill only as we have good experience with modernbill only.

We are also doing some experiments with inbuilt billing manager that comes with hosting controller control panel. I will post a new thread in services forum once we complete those experiments.

Been delayed by BT major works!
I've rerun the whoiscart diagnostic and it shows no change. How do I check for these components in whm/cp to give whoiscart verification before installation? I've looked and can see no reference to Zend.

"The diagnostics pack was halfway wrong I'd say

"Your host is correct that Zend Optimizer is installed, there's a detection error in the diagnostics pack it seems, for later versions of Zend Opt.

"However, it is definitely not lying when it writes that your CURL doesn't have SSL support. Visit: www. woolconet.com/diagnostic/info.php and search for Curl. You'll see that the CURL Information section, doesn't cite /OpenSSL.

"You can send this to your host

"Bottom line is that cURL needs to be compiled --with-ssl

Once you've resolved this I'll complete the purchase of whoiscart. If you would like to install it to have an idea what the package is like, I'd be more than happy to let you do it.
Otherwise my original intention was to let whoiscart do the installation to save me time (and fingernails!).

Well, I've finally got whoiscart installed and configured and I'm impressed.

For a program costing around £20 I've had superb support from the whoiscart team. They do offer an install service for and extra $12.50, but in fact installation is straightforward so long as you remember to FTP in binary.

Configuration can be a bit tricky, although that may just be me, as I don't just like things to work I want to understand what I'm doing - and I didn't! However, Luke on whoiscart support got me all the way through to a working system - all I need now are the customers.

The cart can be set up to sell hosting only or link directly into one or more registrar's account for domain registration.

Account creation in whoiscart is automated, and whoiscart can address multiple WHMs.

Integration with PayPal tripped me up - you must use the primary email address on your PayPal account. However, again the problems were entirely mine and after creating a debug file and Luke pointing out that autocreation did not work when using Sandbox they got me sorted out.

PayPal's IPN manual made me wonder if I was up to it, as I have established sales website hostings that do not use IPN. I wasted a few days before I asked for help. In the end all I had to was change my auto return page from .html to .php and enter that URL in settings! Presto! Done!

I would imagine integration with other payment processors would be as simple, and you can choose from several and use as many as you want to.

Looking back it seemed a lot more daunting than it actually was. All in all it's a well featured program with premium support at a budget price.

My knowledge is limited to website hosting creation in WebPlus and a bit of HTML tinkering. Whoiscart is in PHP, of which I'd no experience. So if they could talk me through it no one else should have any problems.

Perhaps I should have made this a new thread, but I'm sure you can sort that out if you think it appropriate.

I tried to be brief but quite comprehensive as I feel whoiscart is an option many users will consider simply because of the price. But on the other hand they will also be rather wary - also because of the price compared to the competition.

I think it would be useful as new thread.
