Default Puma down?

It would appear that for about the past half hour 'puma' has been down. Speaking over the phone to our other branch at work they're also unable to access a site hosted on the server. I looks like the server's down as the website, cPanel, and email are unavailable at present.

Anyone else experiencing the same problem?

We are aware of this problem. Puma's home has gone into read-only mode. The server was rebooted and now NickJ as well as AlexP are working on it. This will be fixed pretty soon.

I'm on puma too, and I've lost files on much of my website about 30mins before it went down. Many of the subfolders appeared blank under FTP, but they clearly weren't, because if they were, important class files wouldn't be defined, and my site would give an error and not load. Is this related to the downtime, or a seaprate issue?

The data is safe, there is no fear of data-loss what-so-ever. We are progressing even as I write this post.

That's good. I was mainly wondering wether the weird data loss could be caused by this problem, or if it could be something else, merely coincidently happening at the same time as these hardware problems. Can you give an ETA for uptime?

I would imagine that seeing the folders empty is a side effect of the current problem on Puma rather than 2 seperate or related problems .

I hope so. By the way, I was very disappointed at the Live Support from "Ralf" who told me, for 20 mins that the issue would take just "a couple of minutes", wasting my time. If he'd just said it'd take an hour or two, I'd have been off, but I wasnt.

Plus, it's been about two, two and a half hours since the first problems started, assuming mine were related to the hardware issues.

Hmmm, although I can't comment on the LiveChat, to back up what I said in my previous post, when I was on a shared server in the past and there was a problem with it my FTP also showed empty folders but rest assured they returned to normal after the problems were fixed. Are you sure Ralf wasn't saying that he wanted a couple of minutes to investigate the problem rather than fix it? Normally when I contact LiveChat support they ask for a few minutes to get the details about the server and any specific problems to do with it .

They're still up and down like jack-in-the-boxes. the mySQL service seems to be particularly frisky.

Puma is online now and all services seem to be running smoothly. We are monitoring Puma from some time and it seems to have got rid of File System errors it had due to power outage.
