Default Puzzled after changing nameservers

Hi

I purchased a resellers account yesterday.

My current websites are hosted elsewhere under a standard package using domain add-ons.

I changed the nameservers last night for one of these add-ons to point to a new account I set up on my resellers account. The nameservers have been updated because the website now cannot be found.

However I cannot login to the cpanel of the new account to reupload the content.

the website in question is http://www.hsog.org.uk

I haven't changed the nameservers for my old primary account to the new eukhost account yet because I need to move all my add-on domains first otherwise I won't be able to access them.

Really struggling with what I've done wrong. I don't know if it is relevent but I changed the nameservers to the private ones I was sent for the reseller account ie ns1.pc-bytes.co.uk rather than ns21.eukhost.com is this the problem?

Many Thanks for any assistance

Lee

Use ns21.eukhost.com, the most likely cause is that A/NS records don't exist for pc-bytes.co.uk.

Use ns21.eukhost.com and the secondary nameserver provided by eUKhost, do this because ns1.pc-bytes.co.uk & ns2.pc-bytes.co.uk have no glue or A records, as http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hsog.org.uk tells me.

could it not be that the nameserver change hasn't propagated yet?

Nope, check the DNSStuff report, no A records exist. A records normally take immediate effect with DNSStuff since they do a lookup directly from the nameserver for the domain, so it should be there.

So does that mean I can't use ns1.pc-bytes.co.uk? These are the private nameservers I was provided at registration.

Many Thanks

Hello Lee,

You will need to login in your account with fasthosts and register your private nameservers with following information :-

ns1.pc-bytes.co.uk => 87.117.234.180
ns2.pc-bytes.co.uk => 87.117.234.181

once you get this registered then wait for 24 hours. after that you can make your main domain name to use this 2 nameservers but as Josh ( Flesso ) has said that you need to check status of your nameservers from dnsstuff.com or centralops.net/co/DomainDossier.aspx

If you see the nameservers resolving or responding to ping from your end then you are all set to make your domain name point to those nameservers.
