Virtual Hosts and Wildcard DNS's?

Im trying to install Wordpress MU to my apache account (myhwd.com), in fact its installed fine but I want to reinstall it and utilise its virtual host functionality. So it will create blogs on subdomains as opposed to in a directory (newbog.myhwd.com instead of myhwd.com/newblog).

To enable this the installation instructions tell me to do the following...

2. In the <Directory> directive of your virtual host, look for this
line:
"AllowOverride None"
and change it to...
"AllowOverride FileInfo Options"

3. In the <VirtualHost> section of the config file for your host there
will be a line defining the hostname. You need to add the following
if you want virtual hosts to work properly:
"ServerAlias *.domain.tld"
Replace domain.tld with whatever your one is, and remove the quotes.

The problem is, I dont know how to do this? In fact I dont even think I can! Is Eukhost able to allow wildcard dns's and virtual hosts?

Do the mentioned in httpd.conf file of apache, if you're on a VPS Hosting/dedicated server. Also, the newer version of Apache has changed this configuration slightly. Which version of Apache are you on?

Thanks for your reply swexpert, however Ive got a reseller/shared hosting account.

Does anyone at eukhost know if this is possible for my type of account? A VPS Hosting or dedicated server would be nice, but a bit out of my price range at the mo!

Hello Dale,

It wont be possible to add custom virtualhost entires on a Reseller plan. Wildcard DNS can be added as you can do so from DNS management section of your WHM.

Best option to configure viirtualhost entries is to open a ticket foor our support team and they will do the needful.
