Funny Chip & Pin Card Story :D
I was out on Thursday (well I did have Friday off so it would have been rude not to go out!!! lol) and walked into the club I usually go in and went up to the bar. I know they have card machines in there and that I will probably stay their all night so I don't carry any cash on me. Which anybody will tell you is a wise decision in the town centre of Manchester .
Anyway I come to use my card and it keeps coming up card error. The bar man informs me that it was broke last week when he tried it but I don't remember this (no prizes for guessing why!!). I tried rubbing the chip and clearing any dust off it too no avail . I get so stressed because I can't believe that it won't work and it is pouring down with rain outside and I have no coat with me and the nearest cash point is a good few minutes walk away (in which time I will get soaked and look a state - not good).
After conceding that I will have to go and get soaked I try one last thing before I go out into the rain. I get the card out of my walet and lick the chip. Yes, you heard right, I licked the chip. I go back to the bar man and ask him to try it one more time, he agrees (bare in mind that it failed last week and on four retry attempts this evening). It magically comes to life and starts working again!! I don't get too overjoyed in case it is a one off but it worked the second, third, fourth and all the other returns that I am having memory difficulties with .
So the piece of information that you can learn for today is that "If you chip and pin card stops working give it an emergency lick to reactivate it!"

It is just like kissing a frog to make it turn into a beautiful Princess.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the story states that the frog turned into a young prince after the beautiful maiden/princess kissed him. It'd be better if I get turned into one by some coool witch (Hermione Granger: Harry Potter)
LoL... I'm going out searching for 'she' frogs... err... princesses... Hoping to find few of them soon... Hehe.. Enjoy the Frog Hunt

I tried to watch a movie and my PC was not detecting it, it started working when I licked the CD and tried again.

Same thing with vending machines - you know when the coin just goes straight through to the return slot. A quick lick on the coin and bingo it works.

How very true - I have done both of these in the past! It just shows how powerful and useful the tongue really is!! It fixes debit / credit cards, CDs, coins.
Is there anything else the tongue can do? (please remember this is a family forum lol )

In animals, such as dogs and cats, the tongue is often used to clean the fur and body. Rough textures of the tongues of these species helps them to use their tongues to remove oils and parasites by licking themselves and each other. Aside from daily uses for eating and drinking, a dog's tongue acts as a heart regulator. As a dog increases it's exercise the tongue will increase in size due to greater blood flow. The tongue hangs out of the dog's mouth and the moisture on the tongue will cool down further cooling down the blood flow.
Plus, there are many more benefits of the tongue, which I won't discuss here

LoL... The other 'great' uses of the tongue are :
1) Sticking It Out.
2) Tongue Twisters:
She sells sea shells by the sea shore.
The shells she sells are surely seashells.
So if she sells shells on the seashore,
I'm sure she sells seashore shells.
3) To speak....
4) To eat
5) N the story goes on....
