On average, how much can a web designer make, and how much experience is required to land a good, solid job? Seems like there would be a lot of work in that field right now.

The amount a web designer can charge is truly dependent upon his past success's and or failures, as well as a number of other issues, including your potential clients size.

It really depends on the type of knowledge you possess i.e. which web platforms you can use to design sites like Wordpres, HTML, Flash, etc.

What normally helps land a good solid job is nay examples of previous work completed, etc.

I agree, it would be a good income source. I would say the make money depending on how much work they do. Anyone has a Idea?

Interesting questions. I belive it may differ significantly in this field, since 'good design' is up to the observer. In general I would guess 5-7 years experience in design would get you rather far.

I would recommend having a portfolio or a site where you list all of your work. It's so individual, and almost impossible to put a price tag on a design without seeing what's been done before. But think a good freelancer can make £5000-7000 a month.
