I know I had this on one server and not another. And then it disappeared on the first server. But as to why it disappeared, I have no idea. This is a case for cPanel to establish that and eUK just have to wait on cPanels response unfortunately...

Hi Rose,
You will have same problem with Awstats if you move to another cpanel host. We can move your account on one of our windows plesk server to get this problem sorted. We are getting many complaints daily due to this problem and now I will need to look into this problem.
I will communicate with one of the management members of cpanel and ask them for an ETA.

Thank you for all your comments.
I appreciate it's a cpanel problem - so I don't understand why I keep being told by various members of the support dept that a new cron, script etc will solve/has solved the problem. This is very frustrating as it gives me false hope!!! I also don't understand why it used to be a fairly minor and intermittent problem and now it is a problem all the time.
I think if you could find out from cpanel what is going on that would be useful information. All I know is that I've had the problem on and off since June and as time marches on it seems to be getting worse and worse. Given the popularity of cpanel there must be a whole load of dissatisfied hosting customers out there.
Looking forward to hearing what cpanel management have to say.

The support department is simply trying to figure out hacks or workarounds to get your Awstats working again - they are essentially trying to fix cPanels problem for them but unfortunately they won't have the same access and knowledge of the programming of cPanel as the actual developers.
Yes, there are a lot of disastified people. Just having a quick look on Google - "Results 1 - 10 of about 1,460 for cpanel awstats not updating problem"
And most of the results that I have looked at are relevant (i.e. people having problems with Awstats on cPanel).

Hi Rose,
Our support staff is trying to help all our customers troubled with this problem. Earlier cron was helping to fix this problem, but now this has got worst and we need a solution asap.
we have opened close to 10 tickets with cpanel to get this problem sorted since September 2008. I've finally had a word with their VP as well as senior QA person to get this sorted. I'm quite sure that this will get sorted in next 24 - 48 hours. If we fail to get a solution from them then we will move your account on one of our plesk servers.

Yes there are a lot of results but, apart from my posts on this forum, many of them seem to be several years old and are, in the main, problems that appear to have been solved.

Thanks for the offer to move servers (again!) but I'm not convinced I want to move to a Windows/Plesk set up if I can avoid it.
Let's hope cpanel manage to sort this one out.

Yes, we can appreciate that. Unfortunately there is only two options, Windows or wait for cPanel - its completely your choice. I would also hope cPanel would sort it out soon and have my fingers crossed .

We have some top level people from cPanel INC looking into this problem. They will take some time as they want to monitor some of our servers for at least 48 hours. We need to wait for 2 - 3 days as such complicated problems take time for resolution.

I just logged on to my stats and got a real shock - THE STATS HAVE UPDATED THEMSELVES THIS MORNING!!! It's the first time they’ve worked properly in weeks. Is this a fluke or have cpanel engineers actually done something? Will log on again tomorrow to see whether they update again.

I'm not going through the whole thread to see if anybody has recommended this.. but I would recommend Google Analytics
Google Analytics
Easy to install and shows the hits of your website, how the user got to your website, search terms in Google etc.

Yes. cPanel Engineers have released a patch in their existing 11.24 "Current Release" and we have updated cpanel version on our servers as per their request.
I will now respond to their VP and let them know how Happy we are so far.

We can get your account migrated on to our newly setup shared server where-in we can check whether the stats get updated automatically once the account is migrated on to the new server.
