Default Changing the directory an addon domain is served from

I have several addon domains that are served from folders within public_html eg:

\public_html\addondomain.com\

Is it possible to change the directory that the addon domain is served from, for example, change it to \public_html\?

This can be done. We will need to make changes in httpd.conf entries of all those addon domains and path of home directory of respective ftp username as well.

You can submit a ticket to get this done from one of our support staff.

I tried recently doing this through cPanel and it said it had saved ok but when you look at it it has reverted to the standard public_html/addondomainname format which was quite annoying at the time!

Isn't this what a parked domain does? - directs to the main public_html folder?

So set up your domain as a parked domain rather than an addon domain.

I want an add on domain in a different folder - not a parked domain.

But even though the wizard to add a addon domain asks you for the "Document Root" of the add on domain it completely ignores what you say and use the default one anyway!

I did actually get the addon domain thing to point to a different folder, I set up a new folder eg drupal_html at the same level as public_html. I then created an addon domain for a new domain and pointed it at that new folder, and it did serve from that folder.

God knows why it didnt work for me then!!

I didnt select a folder at the same level as public_html though I selected a folder under public_html - I am not sure whether that should make any difference though! .
