Default DNS server problems today?

My website hosting has disappeared offline this morning.

I am not able to ping www.barrowaydrove.org but I am able to ping viking.eukhost.com which was, at least when I last checked it's home.

The problem is it appears the address is not being resolved as if the DNS entry has gone.

Have you got a DNS issue this morning?

Tim

I found the original email from registering the website hosting and used the direct IP address to see if the website hosting was still in existence. I get an Apache splash screen congratulating me on my installation.

I went into cpanel to see if anything was still on the server, the cpanel skin has reverted to an old version (so something has been changed overnight) but all the files appear to be sitting there on the server. None of them are directly accessible however so it's not a happy bunny.

It begs the question, what's been changed this time?

Hello Tim,

I've posted a new thread in announcements section to inform all customers about last night DNS issues due to cpanel updates. This has been sorted now on all shared and reseller hosting servers.

Same here, don't feel alone

Also, three days ago, my database crashed, at the exact same time a friend with a different account here went thru the same problem at the exact same time. Something is really wrong with this service.

Yep it's working again now, but it was down. Support fixed a problem on the "http service" which resolved the issue so not sure if this was a separate problem. Supposedly this was server wide not on my particular account so hopefully others will have been fixed as a consequence.

Interesting how the HTTP service affected a DNS lookup but you live and learn.

My website hosting is down too, has been for last few hours, still havent got a reply back on it from ticket support.
Its my first day on your server, and my website hosting is down already This was the main reason I moved servers, because my previous one was down more than it was up. Wish Iknew what was going on

Bonnie,

You might want to try the online chat option on the support website hosting if you haven't had an update.

I sincerely apologize for the problem you had on the first day itself. This is something that rarely occurs with cpanel updates but we had set automatic updates on our servers as cpanel keeps on releasing fixes for any sort of new vulnerability developed on servers so this time the updates managed to break bind service on the servers.

As the updates deleted some zone files from the server so we had to manually fix things which took some extra time.

Your website hosting seems to work fine from my end right now. please confirm.

Angry problems problems problems

Yes the website hosting seems to work ok for everyone except me
I have emailed ticket support countless times now about this problem, and they have said that the server keeps blocking my ip. It says something about failed ftp logins, even though I havent been on ftp, I havent been on my website hosting long enough to get anything done to upload. All they keep doing is unblocking my ip for me, and each time I want to log in its the same old thing, I cant get in. They say they are looking into all, but this is my second day, and I still cant get work done on my website hosting. Its so frustrating. But I also think now that its not just my ip that is being blocked, I recieved 3 emails from other members today saying they cant get on website hosting.
So much for finding myself a more reliable server. Sorry I dont mean to sound nasty, im just so cheesed off and stressed out with this. My website hosting is meant to be relaunching on Monday, and I have no hope of doing that now, as I probably have to start shopping around for another server. Just wish I was a techno whizz and knew what to do.
Sent my last ticket in first thing this morning saying im blocked, and still nothing back as yet, another day down the drain.

I have been told (in another thread) that the problem that occured would cause a website hosting not to appear so that will be why it didn't display .
