Domain name propagation question again
Hi,
I registered www.ouralgarvehouse.com on the afternoon of the 16th of Feb this month.
I've added it as an "Addon Domain" in my package and uploaded the site files to the server via FTP, but the domain is still not showing up anywhere on the web.
Looking through DNS Stuff and Whois, its returning each search as a negative.
I believe its past the "24-72" hours that propagation normally takes, so would appreciate if someone at EUK could check this for me.
I will of course, submit a Support Ticket if required.
Thanks in advance.

Brilliant.
What was the problem, Matthew?.
Also, just out of interest, upon looking at my server status via cPanel, I have these two warning lights at the bottom of the page:-
What do those indicate?.

Notification that those folders are filling up on the server
Yellow = notify
Red = think about reducing some files

Hmmmm. So what do I do about that?. I've hardly used any of my allocated disk space according to cPanel, so what files/folders are sat at 90 and 92% respectively?.

That's a job for support to fix. It's nothing you can do as it's a server wide thing and nothing specific to your account.
If you're worried, have a word with them on livechat but it's nothing for you to be too alarmed about.
And the domain name thing, I'm guessing there was something wrong in the DNS or named config. But at least it's fixed now!

Thanks Jonathan.
I'll keep an eye on the cPanel warning lights and contact support if need be, but I'm not alarmed at the moment, was just curious as to why the lights were showing and the percentage was so high.
Thanks.

If you had a VPS or Dedicated now you'd be starting to get alarmed. But on shared, support will be on top of it.
Lets hope my VPS behaves itself and none of these appear! It's already been enough of a bad boy in the last two weeks without creating more problems for me. Lol.

Well it's now all resolved *crosses fingers* but I've had:
Kernel Issues
Fantastico Issues
Email to Yahoo Issues (I blame yahoo entirely!)
Email to another external server (their server not mine!)
RAM usage issues
VPS appearing as 32 bit instead of 64 bit
Named issues
Virtuozzo being unavailable
Mailman issues
Services not restarting automatically
Firewall not blocking IPs
IMAP being slow due to gam_server not working properly
It's not really been eUK's fault but it's just been one of those weeks where everytime my phone goes I've been going "please don't be a client" or when I get a text, "please don't be a server down text from the monitoring service!" I'm quite amazed at how little impact this has had on my clients service. Support definitely get praise where it's due for that although I like to think I helped a bit along the way. Lol.
Now, where's the whiskey to celebrate it all working properly!?

I hope not for your sake!
But it's certainly been an interesting time balancing running my business, sorting this stuff, running a uni society and my degree! Saturday was definitely a crash and sleep day!

Hello Gary,
Please let me know which account is using 90% of allocated quota. Your main domain has used only 388 MB out of 10GB.

I think this is to do with the /var /usr and /home directories Mark and I guess someone in support would have to look at that as I guess this is a shared server?

Mark, I'm not really sure where to look to tell you what account is using 90% of allocated quota?. The only thing I see in cPanel is the diskspace which you quite correctly said had used @388Mb out of 10Gb.
Allocated quota of what, exactly?.
Sorry for being a bit vague about it, not sure what I'm meant to be looking for?!!!.

I'm not sure you actually have access to this information as I don't think you have the rights on the server.... I think we'll have to wait for Mark to reply.
