Default Domain registration problem: Showing "Error"??

Hi folks,

I have a Platinum package here, had it for a few months and I am very pleased with it so far.

I registered another domain name with EUK a few days ago, went through the payment process and received the bill and invoice etc. I paid with my usual credit card and it all appeared to go through ok.

However, the new domain name still is'nt activated. Nothing in my cPanel and although its listed in my Invoice details etc, its showing a little red icon with "error" on it, has been since I registered and purchased it.

Here's the domain I registered and here's what it says:-

Domain Name: GLASGOWKAYAKCLUB.COM

Registrar: ENOM, INC.

Whois Server: whois.enom.com

Referral URL: http://www.enom.com

Name Server: NS25.EUKDNS.COM

Name Server: NS26.EUKDNS.COM

Status: ok

Updated Date: 03-jul-2007

Creation Date: 03-jul-2007

Expiration Date: 03-jul-2009

Registrant Details

Organization: EUK Host
Name(First/Last): EUKhost Customer
Role: Customer
Address Line1: 24 Clarence Street
Address Line2:

City: Durham
State/Province:

Postal/Zip: Dh6 5BB

Fax: +1.8000974828

I have invoice number and transaction ID numbers if required, can post them if that helps.

I know it can take up to 24hrs for it to propogate etc, but it was a couple of days ago now that the transaction went through?.

Would appreciate if someone could look into this for me, I'm designing and hosting a website hosting for a customer and need this domain up and running as soon as is possible!!!.

Many thanks in advance,

Gaz.

Well it looks like the registration has definitely gone through so there is no worry about anyone else poaching the domain.

It seems there may be an error in the "activation" or propergation of the domain for some unknown reason.

Have you contacted support?

your domain name was successfully registered and its nameservers were also pointed to the server hosting your account. It seems that you have not added your domain name in your cpanel so far as you need to do that from your end. either add it as a parked domain or addon domain.

We dont add it in your control panel as its upto you to decide if it should be a addon domain with its own website hosting or parked domain pointing to the website hosting of main domain.

Well at least you got it sorted in the end. It isn't stupid - there is nothing stupid about learning. The stupid thing would be to sit their in silence if you are having a problem! .

It can take up to 72 hours to propagate - 24 hours is about average I suspect.

This days new domains propagate in less than 10 minutes while DNS modifications take 2 - 5 hours only. 24 hours is way too much now

Only recently I've found that even new domains and certainly nameserver changed domains have taken in excess of 24 hours to propagate (and I've had a few to do after the move to plesk server ). And although I have had propagation take place almost instantly over the years, 24 hours is still an average time. 72 hours is the time to wait before suspecting something might be wrong - but i must admit that I would be worried after 48 hours.

All mine have been fully active within in a matter of hours - so from my experience it is normally under 24 hours but I am not sure whether this is the norm or whether I have just been lucky.

Yeah, if it takes longer than 72-96 hours then I suspect there would be a problem, propagation doesn't take longer than 72 hours in most cases. If any domains haven't propagated after 72 hours, try contacting support . And yeah, my domain didn't propagate at all, because I entered the wrong nameservers in . After I entered the correct nameservers I was up and running within a matter of minutes. Hope everything gets sorted for you .

... Erm, everything already has been sorted for this person .

Propogation might take 72 hours in Iraq but in developed countries well under 24 hours seems to be more common.

If your ISP provides you internet service on DSL then the propagation wont take any time but if you are on Cable or Satellite technology then it can take much longer. If someone in Iraq is on DSL technology and you are on Cable then guy in Iraq will see the changes before you

Wow, its been fast for me even on cable so that surprises me - it must be even super faster on DSL - like a matter of minutes!
