Drupal installation broken?

It was working fine a week or so ago, and then I found I couldn't create new pages in drupal. After *hours* of work I found this page that describes the problem:

(the forum won't lwet me post the URL so I've obfuscate it)

drupal.org/node/110219 : Mysterious 403, 404, 406, 500 or "Page not found" errors depending on submitted content

The fix here works - so I conclude you've changed some settings.

Yes, this is due to mod_security - and has been posted on the forums many times
