Default Editing .htaccess (for use with Wordpress)

I guess this is more than of a question than a dedicated problem.

Anyway, I'm setting up a blog in Wordpress and have set up my Permalinks to be shown in the following format:

/news/070%post_id%/%postname%.html

Now, the problem is that whenever I click on one of my links, I'm getting an error page because the .htaccess can't form the URL in the format shown above.

Is there anyone out there who can tell me how I need to edit my .htaccess file to stop this problem?

Yours (totally gratefully!) in advance ...

Wordpress itself makes a .htaccess code which you will need to copy - paste in your .htaccess. You can try that or contact our support team as we can check error logs and understand whats wrong with your .htaccess code

Just had my CMS corrupt!! They are very volatile things so a problem like this doesn't surprise me
