Hello Vickie,

Default IP address of the server has been changed and now main IP address of
this server is 91.186.0.2. Please modify your cpanel / WHM login URL and
replace the previous IP 87.117.234.234 with the new IP address "91.186.0.2"

Performance of old server was slow due to high load and it was running short
of resources. We had to replace hardware of this server with high
configuration processors and more RAM. Your new server is now running with
"Core 2 Duo Quad Core Q6600 CPU" and 8 GB RAM.

Those who are using remote DNS servers should make necessary changes in A
records to point their domains to new server. We had to setup new server
with new IP address to avoid any sort of downtime so old IP address had to
be changed.

Customers using our Nameservers wont have any sort of downtime or problems
with their website hosting due to this change in servers IP address. You can contact
our Support Team from http://support.eukhost.com if you have any sort of
questions related to this change.

Default email still down on firefly

Hi,
I have a shared type package (bronze), and I don't believe that I have access to change the login on cpanel.

Shouldn't I have been told that this is was going to happen? I am getting calls from my users that their passwords are being rejected from the server too.

In any case, port 110 is still not working for me, and I can't use webmail. I can't change webmail and none of my users can send or receive.

Please fix this.

Vickie

I'm on firefly too, email isn't even listed if you look at the server status. I'm getting database errors on one of my website hostings too.

All my email accounts seem to be affected. So if we are using eUkHosts domain name servers, are we waiting for dns propagation to fix this?

I was notified of this problem by a customer of mine. Why the f**k are we still not being notified of these changes by eUkHost? I'm very angry!

I'm pretty sure it's not a dns propogation issue, I can log in to cpanel using my normal url. My databases keep dissapearing and re-appearing though! I guess they are busy trying to get it working, as you say, it would have been nice if they had told us to expect problems.

Default Manchester

I just noticed, we are now on a server called Manchester. So, having fought tooth and nail to be put on a server that allows me to run gallery properly (there was a security issue on my original server and they moved me to firefly) am I going to have all the same issues all over again? Could someone from eukhost let us know some details please?

Lucky those who got email back - POP3 is ok for me, but webmail and SMTP still down.

The question remains - Why don't Eukhost tell its customers about changes BEFORE they happen, rather then waiting until the s**t hits the fan and then saying ("oh, btw, we just changed everything in the background....)????

Sorry, not all fixed. I used to be able to go into webmail from cpanel, effectively logging in as my root name, morethan, and see every mailbox.

This is now just ignored.

I would like to have this facility back. Thank you.

Ditto, this kind of thing is really getting to me. It is getting to point where I am starting to feel that I can't offer a reliable enough service to my customers. If I could simply warn them that email might be down for a while (for example), it would save so much grief!

Firefly was constantly running at load of 10 for last week and the CPU was overheated all the time due to over clocking.

Our System Admins raised concerns about it on Saturday and we decided to move it immediately to avoid any sort of problems in this week.

Nothing should have gone wrong with the new server as data was mirrored with perfection but this minor MySQL problems and Email problems appeared once website hostings started resolving from the new servers but we got those fixed quickly.

Prior notification could not have helped in this situation as MySQL and some email problems do appear no matter how soon the notifications come.

Hi,
I do not question the correctness of changing servers, but the problems that we have had do not seem to be propagation problems, it seemed more like permissions, and firstly:

I am grateful that your suppport on this list listens and gets things sorted out quickly, but

<beginConstructiveCriticism>It does seem that some double checks might not in place in your migration procedures <endConstructiveCriticism>

But luckily you have good support which catches these problems and sorts them out.

All MySQL problems are sorted now. One minor thing was there in /etc/my.cnf of the server which took some time to figure out as there were no messages in log files on the server.

old_password was enabled in my.cnf which had to be removed to fix this problem.
