Default Email Down on Viking Server?

Just to flag up, in case anyone else is having problems - email services are down on, I think, Viking (I'm not too sure which server my email is hosted on!).
Anyway, POP3 connection errors using Outlook and "Cannot display page" errors for webmail.
I've submitted a ticket: GMX-93296-536

I just got the email about the IP address change. I'm using mail.domainname in Outlook and mail.domainname/webmail, not the IP address directly.
POP3 is ok - I'm receving messages now, but SMTP is still off, and webmail is not yet available. I guess we just wait until the new IP address is propagated?

What a mess!
I know that this has been mentioned before, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE could we have some sort of advance (ie: before you do it) notification when you're making any changes that are in any way likely to have an effect on services to your customers?
That way, when things go pear-shaped we can have already set up alternative arrangements, rather than having to fire-fight problems due to changes that Eukhost have made without previously telling us!

POP3 working ok, but SMTP is still down. Webmail configuration has changed in some way, so mail.domain/webmail doesn't work anymore. Alternative links do though.

IP address change was done last night at 00:30 GMT and it takes less than 60 minutes for A records to propagate.

You must have got some wrong settings on your outlook configuration or DNS setup as there should be no problem for domains using our DNS. If you are having problem with mail.domain.com then edit your SMTP server settings and use "domain.com" only without mail. ahead of it.

Firefly was counting its days and Typhoon was heading in same direction so we could not risk to wait for 1 week by sending prior notifications and waiting for your suggestions. As I said that nothing should go wrong as everything was mirrored with perfection.

Glad to see the email is up again - seems to have been email problems on a few servers at the same time but at least it is all sorted now.
