Default email service not working... again

I am trying to access my email using outlook express.

There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'xxxxxx@xxxxxxxxx.com', Server: 'mail.xxxxxxxxx.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Maildir invalid (no 'cur' directory)', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

I know the password is correct.
I have deleted the account and reinstated it.
Tried it on port 25 and port 2525.

Please please sort it out.
I renewed my subscription yesterday, should I have bothered?

Sounds like you were part of the recent server move. EUK mightn't have fixed your mail account yet. I had an identical problem but EUK had to change something on their end to fix it after the server migration.

Default Mine isn't working either

They fixed it sunday night by doing this:

Quote:
I've sorted this problem. Seems like many people have gone though this problem on many different forums but there has been no solution for them. Here's the solution for this problem.

/etc/init.d/courier-imap stop

disable courier-imap if its there inside the /etc/xinetd.d/ directory and if not then simply run following command :-

/etc/init.d/xinetd restart
Perhaps they should do that agian?

David

Hello Phil,

Please let me know the IP address of the server hosting your account. David and Chris are hosted on 64.38.20.218 but I am not sure about your server.

It would be more convenient if you open a ticket from our helpdesk and provide me with the ticket number to followup with the technical guys.

Default Don't go there with that one

I spent an enjoyable (!!) 30 mins with 1st line support on Messenger the other day when email wasn't working - Basically when I raise a ticket from your support pages I don't get a ticket number. The number comes in the auto email acknowledgment of the ticket, and if email isn't working I cant get the number. The support guy was most insistent that support would update me by email - despite me telling him that email wasn't working. By the end i could have pulled out what little is left of my hair.
Luckilly that time i worked out what the problem was and managed to get him to tell admins who fixed it - I then got all the emails telling me there was no problem !!!!
Anyway - I've raised a ticket with the title "Email isn't working"

lol

I think you are not aware of monitoring tickets from http://support.eukhost.com

you can monitor your tickets from our helpdesk even if your email service has problems.

I can't see any of my tickets there - can't sign in either - so I guess tickets just show up in some 'Guest' account somewhere

you will need to register with the email address you have used to open tickets. You wont be allowed to see tickets unless you put the registration code sent in an email.

A late comment if I may, if I've understood this dilemma correctly? Surely the sensible thing to do as an account holder, whether it's a single account, a reseller account or a dedicated server account, is to use an email address NOT hosted within your eUKhost account as your means of communication with eUKhost!

I suggest using a Gmail account (but there's plenty of choice from others like Hotmail, Yahoo etc) ...

gmail can be a better option as you can setup forwarding from gmail. hotmail has revised its email policies and many times they block emails for unjustified reason.

most of the times people open tickets only when the website or email service has any problems so you may not receive our replies in your mailbox if your email account is setup on hosted account with us.
