Default Email suddenly not working

Hi

I recently setup my Outlook Express using the pre-configured .reg files that are generated from your cPanel, this has worked great for the last couple of days.

However, today there appears to be a problem with outgoing mail, incoming mail is functioning properly.

"The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'martin@printone.co.uk', Server: 'mail.printone.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 26, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E"

Any ideas why this is suddenly not working for outgoing mail?

please use port 25 or 587 for SMTP as port 26 is disabled on the server. seems like aol customers are having problem with port 25 and 26 and thats the reason port 587 has been enabled in place of 26.

I agree that AOL customers suffer severe problems (deferrals/delays) if trying to use port 25 to send from their eUK-hosted domains, but of my two customers that suffered exactly these problems it has been resolved by me configuring Exim additionally on port 26 — please explain the contradiction?

you can check aol's FAQ's from :- http://postmaster.aol.com/faq/port25faq.html

They have mentioned that they recommend using port 587 for SMTP.
