Default Emails I send are getting blocked by hotmail

I justed went to send an email to my sister who has a hotmail account, and it got blocked with the following message:

MailEnable: Message could not be delivered to some recipients.
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

Recipient: [SMTP:********@hotmail.co.uk]
Reason: 550 Your e-mail was rejected for policy reasons on this gateway. Reasons for rejection may be related to content such as obscene language, graphics, or spam-like characteristics (or) other reputation problems. For sender troubleshooting information, please go to
http: // postmaster.msn.com Please note: if you are an end-user please contact your E-mail/Internet Service Provider for assistance.

Any ideas why this has started happening? The message I sent contained no images, no attachments, and no bad language.

Hotmail seems to have done something in the last 3 weeks. I get a lot of these bounces but those are actually sourced from some spam websites. Someone tries to send messages to
xxyy @hotmail.com from aabbcc@ somecorporatedomain.com and hotmail bounces it. It appears that earlier Hotmail was accepting mail from servers which did not have enough information in the header to authenticate the sender hostname/IP but now after stricter security implementations, those without proper information are rejected.
Surprisingly, they send a 550 - which means user does not exist.

Any light on this would be appreciated.

They have a long list of requirements which should be satisfied by ISPs and hosting companies. All our Linux servers meet those requirements but the Windows server has got some limitations but we will get this sorted as we have a strong team of windows system admins who are capable of doing customization as per requirements.

At least add an SPF record to his/her domain.

Well, could you provide us the complete headers of the returned email ?
If not here, you can email our support dept.
Also, I will add an SPF record (www. openspf.org/) for your domain right away.

The full returned email is as follows, although I have blanked out email addresses:

Quote:

I have added the SPF record for those 3 domains as per your request. Hopefully if thats the case, your emails to hotmail.com should be working in short duration.

We have also contacted Hotmail if some of their newly invented policies are conflicting with our server's configurations or email sending policies & are awaiting a positive response from them

Let me know if you have any further questions/suggestions. Have a nice weekend !

this domain xrtwo.com, also does not seem to have a secondary ns record on euk DNS.

MS bragged about the benefits of SIDF - Sender ID Framework (MS version of SPF) last year on 1st march 2006 and mentioned that 75 million domains using this feature had/generated lesser spam. So I suspect they may have been testing it for one more year and implemented it on 1st march 2007 onto MSN LIVE mail - the flash/xml avatar of hotmail. Though I do not have any official/authentic report about this. They used to call it emailauthentication.org but now call it AOT - Alliance for Online Trust (or something).

Martin has disabled email service for one account which was getting heavy amount of incoming emails. Hopefully your emails will start reaching your brother's hotmail account in few hours.
