The code should read
Code:
<IfModule mod_security.c>
SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off
</IfModule>

One more time, I thought that using the "code" tags the actual code would appear, like it's supposed to, but it still edited the needed text.

As far as I can tell, once uploaded to the server it's masked/invisible. At least mine is !

once .htaccess.txt is uploaded, you need to edit the name and remove the .txt, leaving the file named simply .htaccess

Good point, but under file manager if you rename a file .htaccess it does work as a .htaccess file.
The problem you are describing happens when you use editors such as Notepad and Word as they append ".txt" and ".doc" onto the end of your files even if you haven't yourself!
Hope that helps

is this sorted now or are you still struggling with it ?
I see your technical skills improving now but you need to put lil extra efforts. As of now we have reverted some mod_security rules which were making problems for images so things should work fine now if you remove the code I gave you.
your website hosting will become safe source for hackers to inject your webpages if you keep mod_security disabled from .htaccess. even other members can remove the code now and check if things are back to normal.

We wouldn't be able to edit files for someone else would we? (Don't worry I'm nice and get no pleasure from attacking sites! - I am just intrigued!! )

Seems it needs to be off for OpenAds to redirect correctly.

I just removed the code, and my website hosting immediately malfunctioned. I had to re-insert the code to make it right again.

let me know your domain name so that we can check logs on the server to know which rule had created problem for your website hosting.

Hi all
Yup, you guessed it, same for me - the header redirects are going to the root level, and not where they are supposed to go.
I've tried adding:
SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off
to the .htaccess file, but then I get a 500 error!!!
HELP pls...
Thanks in advance
(BTW, my client is now getting fed-up, as since I moved to this hosting, there have been constant problems over the past week or so).

Hi cheeky, my .htaccess file plays hide and seek too. I had to overwrite with one that was blank to delete the existing one on the server.

< IfModule mod_security.c >
SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off
< /IfModule >
