Default Help! Wordpress blog!

When I upload images in the write post section, it uploads the image fine and the code appears in the text box like its supposed to, but when I click on either “save and continue editing”, “save” or “publish”, it keeps going back to my homepage and not saving or publishing anything! This only happens when I upload images. I checked the error logs in cpanel and it's come up with this:

Was "hellokittystrat.jpg" the file you were trying to upload?

I'm currently using wordpress, but don't use the upload feature. You could consider uploading the image manually, and then starting from there.

how large is the image you are uploading? Perhaps test the system with a small image (10kb) and see if it works. There maybe a size limit on uploads. In fact I'm pretty sure there'll be a size limit on EUKhosts php installation for uploads in general - possibly 1Mb or 2Mb.
It might be that you'll have to install your wordpress again due to corrupted files - if so, export your database and re-import it once you've re-installed wordpress.
Could be worth checking with support that there are no other issues before you do that though.

Yeah, that was the one! I have tried to do it manually too, but unfortunately it still doesn't work!

I used a program to compress the image, so it was 11kb. Just on the off chance I have tried to use other images that are smaller and still get the same problem unfortunately!
I will ask support and try to do a fresh install of wordpress then re-import the database as you suggested!

Thanks!

Well, it works fine here, so you maybe have corrupt Wordpress files. Simply replace all of the wordpress files except the config file.

Default Back again...

Hi there!

Well, over the weekend I have done a fresh install of wordpress, but to no avail! It keeps doing the same thing, but I when I check the error logs this time all I come up with is this:
[Mon Jun 11 07:00:16 2007] [error] [client 172.212.162.162] File does not exist: /home/butterfl/public_html/favicon.ico
[Mon Jun 11 05:06:27 2007] [error] [client 128.194.135.94] File does not exist: /home/butterfl/public_html/robots.txt
No mention of trying to find the picture that I uploaded! Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Millie

The favicon is simply an icon which appears next to the URL in the address bar, this wont be the thing causing the problem, and doesn't need to be there.

Have you tried using a different browser? Some browsers have strict javascript and ajax restrictions which prevents you from using wordpress correctly.

Hmmm... sounds like either something is going wrong during install or you have changed some settings and Wordpress is not liking it. Either that or there has been a server change recently which upset it.

Have you tried contacting support either through opening a ticket at support@eukhost.com or through LiveChat on the main eUKhost page (www.eukhost.com)? and seen if they can shed any light on this?

Default Same Problem

I've been having the same problem too!

I maintain a couple of websites/blogs with eukhost for different clients and they all have the same problem. It only appears to have started recently.

i've tried creating a new blog via the auto install as well as uploading one manually and i get the same error when creating a post with an image in it.

i've also tried using an absolute url to an image on another website and still the same problem.

i would be interested to hear if you have any luck with support..

Could be caused by recent server mods. Have you opened a ticket with support?

copy and paste following code in your .htaccess

Code:
<IfModule mod_security.c>

    SecFilterEngine Off

    SecFilterScanPOST Off

</IfModule>
.htaccess file is located inside your public_html and you can edit this file from file manage in your control panel. You are facing this problem due to mod_security rules on the server.

I thought mod_security rules worked find with Wordpress and that it was mainly Joomla! that had the problem with them.

I believe that the mod_security rules have been in place for a while so it shouldn't be a problem that has just cropped up. As has been mentioned in the past to keep the servers secure the security rules have to be updated quite frequently.

I assume millie and chriscraig have rectified there problems now .
