How to disable SpamAssassin?

Please could someone advise how to disable SpamAssassin on my mail accounts, I cannot find this option in cPanel?

Despite changing the settings , whitelist, etc., I am still losing incoming emails (sender is seeing 550-JunkMail rejected SMTP errors)

I am currently on the Copper hosting package, if that helps.

You probably won't be able to disable it on a cPanel shared hosting account, but you can set the spam blocking criteria to a higher value.

Login to cPanel >> Mail >> SpamAssassin >> Configure SpamAssassin >>

Set the score to something like 10, by default, it is set to five.

Hmm, yeah it's set to 10 and the sender's domain is whitelisted. I've also turned off 'auto-delete' and tried to turn on the spambox so I get spams into a folder but I still don't see anything. The sender gets the '550 JunkMail rejected' SMTP error but I just don't see anything at my side

The most likely reason for this is that the senders email address is hosted on a server which has once sourced out spam.

Are you able to provide us with the IP address of the senders email address so that I can check it against the spam filters?

The address is 81.138.231.50. Looks like it's on a BT ADSL address range which I guess could be the problem?

81.138.231.50 is not listed on spam IP address blocks, so that isn't what's causing the problem.

What type of content is in the emails which are getting rejected? Any attachments?

It seems that 81.138.231.50 is the senders IP address, and not the IP of the actual SMTP server.

Hmm, I've been trying to get some more details from the sender and it looks like it might not be my (eukhost) server that's bouncing the mail, it might actually be their outbound SMTP relay! oops

Looks like the "recipient's email server" is actually another server on their domain, and the error is coming from an SMTP session between these two servers long before it even gets to eukhost, would you guys agree?

Well at least we got to the bottom of the problem in the end - I always though spam assassin could be disabled on shared accounts but maybe this has changed. Don't forget there are also some global spam settings that can't be modfied that protect the mail servers.
