This was the error thing I was one about at the time. Browsers do it to warn you about potential spoofing etc and unsafe sites which isn't good if you're sending credit card details. But providing you trust the site (mainly if it's yours etc. and you don't mind about errors being there), using shared SSL is ok.

Hi,
I have the Cpanel Shared hosting. I want to use custom PayPal Buttons, which require SSL for the custom header image. If I use a shared SSL certificate, would I be correct in thinking that the error issue described above, would not be an issue in this case, as the public wouldn't see it?

Do you know if PayPal would accept it?

Thanks.

Many people get scared off by SSL certificates which throw up a security error which this certificate will do as I believe it's signed by eUK which isn't a trusted security authority.

General rule of thumb (for myself anyway) use a dedicated SSL certificate. They don't cost much and there won't be any problems with your site once it's running!

Our shared SSL Certificates will work on a URL like https://hostname.eukhost.com/~YourUsername/. This won't throw any errors, but your customers or visitors won't like to get redirected from your website to a different URL.

Best option is to go with a Dedicated SSL Certificate. You get one for only £39 a year with a Dedicated IP and free installation of Certificate.
