Thumbs down Intermittent simplexml_load_file Errors on Victorious

This is now beginning to do my swede in....

Over the past few days I'm getting intermittent simplexml_load_file errors across several account on the Victorious server.

It works off and on. Is someone tweaking the PHP server settings every so often? I'm not making any changes to my code/files or permissions to affect anything - so it appears to be happening server side.

Anyone else getting the same problem?

Yes, we tightened the security settings on the server recently & that's the reason you have been receiving the errors. allow_url_fopen and allow_url_include were set to Off on the server.

We checked the error logs on the server and found one account under your reseller throwing the error "PHP Warning: simplexml_load_file()". I have enabled allow_url_fopen and allow_url_include for the account. Please give it a try now.

If you still have any questions, do post them here ..

Unhappy

Hello Cristiano,

Thanks for the reply. Whilst I can understand the need to be security concious an email to customers hosted on the affected servers would have been appreciated - as now several of my sites won't work properly.

Can you explain what changes were made exactly? As whatever you did to rectify the situation on my account hasn't worked I'm afraid (and I'm currently on live support chat trying to resolve it!).

Very disappointed
