IPB PHP-Nuke Joomla

Its me again lol
Finally got all server probs sorted, thank you
Buttttttttt Last night I decided to upgrade my IPB to the newest install. I have never done this before, someone always did it for me, but i decided to take the bull by the horns and do it myself. It all went well, so I was so pleased, buttttttt it has taken down my portal, my main page to the website hosting, so when you go to the website hosting addy now, your on the message boards.
So I tried to install a new portal from fantstico, tried PHP nuke and joomla, but they keep coming up with the following message :
The installation can not be completed:

- You chose to install in the main directory of the domain spirit-garden.co.uk, but there are conflicting filenames, therefore we can not proceed. Following filenames already exist in the main directory of the domain spirit-garden.co.uk (path="/home/spiritga/public_html/").You must manually remove these files before proceeding with auto-installation:
cache
modules
index.php
robots.txt


Im scared to remove these files., incase I take down the whole website hosting.
Im also trying to make the portal my main page when you get on website hosting. I have a relaunch party tonight, and at this rate its not going to happen lol
Can someone please help me. I need all the advice I can to get website hosting back up properly.
I have been up all night trying to figure it out, but im getting nowhere

Install it to a subdirectory that doesn't yet exist and all your problems will go away.
