Default Issues with email service and support

Ok folks im not a happy bunny at the moment. Ive just moved hosting companies because the last one was poor and this one is not looking rosy at the moment!

We have an issue with email. we can pickup email with no issues. everything is fine on that front. however we can not send email via outlook (and ive not even got to exchange yet!) we can send email via webmail without issue that is unless it is to an AOL address. This again is a problem because some of our clients are on AOL!!!!

i have spoken to the online chat with chris 2-3 times, once with richard and have had an email from adam. Adam said there was no issue but richard and chris said they could replicate the issue. However no one has fixed it yet. I have asked for updates as to the issues and the progress. even their thourghts and have not had ANY RESPONCE. this is very very poor!!! and i am not happy.

Could you please help sort this issue preferably with imediate effect. i have supplied my email adress to chris and richard before and the domain is helixsystems.co.uk

Please sort it out. Ive got 12 hrs to sort the issue before i get a bollocking off the management! please help

Do the following in Outlook:

Quote:
Go to Tools > E-mail Accounts > View or change existing e-mail accounts > *Select the account you wish to edit* > Change > More Settings > Outgoing Server > *Check the box which says "My outgoing server requires authentication", and ask it to use the same settings as the incoming mail server*
This should resolve your problem in no time. Alternatively if this doesn't work, you can add me on msn (see my signature) and I can try and give you quick free unoficial support.

Hello Andy,

Adam had explained outlook configuration in quite detail and his response seems to be good to explain that there's no problem with your mailbox.

I did the same thing and configure the test mailbox in my outlook and I was able to send emails to many different yahoo, hotmail and eukhost.com email addresses without any problem.

I think you are using some wrong settings in pop3 and smtp field. please make sure that you put only "helixsystems.co.uk" in both SMTP and POP3 fields. don't put mail. in front of the domain name. it should be simply "helixsystems.co.uk" and thats it.

let me know if it works.

Andy,

Please view this thread that you posted to: External Email access problem

as I have explained what my error was and how it has been resolved. If you unable to fix, please let me know the router model etc and I can try to assist you. I will re-iterate that there is nothing wrong with the eUKHosts servers as regards the SMTP - it will be the configuration at your end.

As a simple test to see this is what is causing it, go to a command prompt and enter

Quote:
telnet [YOURDOMAIN] 25
EHLO
If it comes back with with an error then it is more than likely that your router/firewall is rejecting the ESMTP protocol. Quick definition from Microsoft on ESMTP is:

Quote:
Enables the server to identify its support for Extended Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (ESMTP) commands
Thanks

Adam.
