In the other thread in this forum called "FTP problems" gordo seems to have resolved the problems he was having.

If you can open a ticket for our support team and provide me with a ticket number then that will help me to get this problem sorted from a senior system admin.
I personally don't know why such problem would occur but guys can keep a watch on logs and figure out what is going wrong on the server with ftp service.

Maybe rebooting the FTP service on the server might solve the problem, clear the temp memory etc?

Status: Connected
Status: Retrieving directory listing...
Command: PWD
Response: 257 "/" is your current location
Command: PORT 192,168,1,3,13,132
Response: 500 I won't open a connection to 192.168.1.3 (only to 81.174.44.195)
Error: Could not retrieve directory listing
I use Filezilla (I use it with another hosting service without problems).
The baffling thing is about IP.
Now my WAN IP is 81.174.44.195 whilst my LAN IP is 192.168.1.3 (I've to PCs connected to a router).
This error message is puzzling :
Response: 500 I won't open a connection to 192.168.1.3 (only to 81.174.44.195)
As I told above I can use FTP with other hosting service without problems.
Anyone knowing something ?
Thanks
Paolo

Paolo,
1) Have you tried the "passive mode" in the first place?
2) Are you on a static IP?
3) Can you connect to the FTP from another machine? (Allow someone else to connect and try for you, or PM me your username and password which you may change later)
4) Fiddle with the router only after confirming its a port related problem (which isn't to my knowledge)

PS :Sorry, I did not go through all the posts because they appeared irrelevant...

Thanks, Mark, I am overwhelmed . I love being here for you people! I was just worried that the tech support will rip the servers apart for this problem : D. Just kidding.
Paolo, You're always welcome! I am glad I could be of some use. There are many people here who'd share their little tips so that its a more community oriented world. WYSIWYG - What is you send is what you get back
