Default One of my website hosting is down, others on hosting are fine

First Driving Instructor for Central Scotland Alloa Stirling Clackmannan

Browser finds the page and says "waiting for reply".

Progress bar crawls slowly up to about a quarter of the way and then it just tells me it cannot display the web page.

Tried it in FF as well as IE and also tried on the wifes computer, my laptop and my Vario II PDA.

No go. Web site hosting wont display.

I will submit a support ticket.

Hope someone can take a look and see what the problem is. All looks fine filewise via FTP.

I'm totally confused now.

Just downloaded the folder with the firstdriving website hosting in it from the server via FTP and the files located within are of an old, previous and unfinished version of the site???!!!.

Cant understand that at all, it was working fine yesterday?.

It looks like something has gone wrong and that an old backup has been restored. All I can say that this is something the admins will have to look into because we on here don't have any access to accounts or backups.

I would suggest opening a ticket and they may be able to get this sorted out for you. It'll depend on backups but I have heard that someone's account did this. They got it sorted out though.

I have a current backup of the web site hosting here which I'm just about to upload.

The domain was registered with 123Reg and I had it set to point towards EUK so I'm not sure whats happening. I will check 123Reg and upload the backup to see what happens.

123Reg are just the domain registrar, so this has nothing to do with them. It's most likely the backups.

Yeah. If that doesn't work and the nameservers are correct, check with support that the DNS entry is ok. It seems odd it would just go mind...

Your firstdriving.co.uk domain is not pointing to our server you can verify it with http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/dnsrep...tdriving.co.uk URL. Can you please check it and point it to our server.

It's quite difficult to tell on 123Reg what's going on. If you just set the nameservers back to eUKhost (I presume that's how you had them) hopefully that will sort it once it propogates.

Very strange.

I was having a look at my account on 123Reg for that domain and all of a sudden when I checked it in IE, its back working again all on its own!!!.

No idea what the problem was but it appears to be sorted now.

I was getting confused as there is another domain name and website hosting registered with 123Reg that I did change the nameserver settings to point towards EUK, but it was not this one.

I should really move the domain name over to here at EUK, its much easier keeping everything in the same place instead of having domains with different hosting companies.

I will look into moving the domains across to EUK asap.

Thanks for the advice folks, thought I had a website hosting emergency on my hands there but as I said, it all seems to be working fine now although I certainly did nothing to fix it!!!. I wonder if there have been problems at 123Reg and all of a sudden they have resolved them?.

Thanks.

Hmmm.. that does seem a strange problem. Glad its sorted for you now though. I had a problem with something that seemed to be an old backup being restored but in reality the nameservers had somehow managed to misconfigure themselves are were pointing a much older version of the site.
