Default PHP Setup

Howdy would it be possible to get someone to set a timezone in the php.ini on the firefly server?

All the error handling in my scripts is throwing a wobbler because of it.

PHP Code:

Error

An Error has occured data may have not been added
or changed to the Database or Current Session.
Please try again or contact the Webmaster

Strict Error

The Above Error Type occurred in
/home/*****/public_html/mobile/tower.php at line 73
date
() [function.date]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. Please use the date.timezone setting, the TZ environment variable or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'UTC' for 'GMT/0.0/no DST instead
Its not a huge issue as php will default to the server timezone but it still throws an error on scripts that use their own error handling ( pretty much all mine ) and its MOST annoying having to scroll past them all ( not to mention is looks as ugly as sin as its a server setup not a programmer error )

you can use php.ini under public_html folder to set timezone for now the Default timezone is set to GMT for your site. You can check the http://yourdomain.com/phpinfo.php. If you are still facing any problem then please submit a ticket from our support desk.

Ah ok no problem. Seems a bit of a strange setup but what woprks workd I never noticed there was a php.ini file there.

The default rearlly should be "Europe/London" rather than GMT as this isnt recognised by PHP.

Does this not open a security risk having the full settings avialble to get by simply typing in http://www.domain.com/php.ini ? shouldent this be under a non public directory.

Regards

I don't seem to be able to access php.ini files using the method you suggested. At the moment a local php.ini file takes precendence over the global one . The global is more of a default to rely on.
