Default Question about SPAM

Hello ....

I am having some problems with the emails...and I'm starting to get a little tired of it. So...what is it this time? Well, some emails sent by other people have a tendency to disappear without any notification being sent either to me or the sender - informing them that the email never reached the designated recipient. This story sounds awfully familiar....and it's the same for all the pop3 mailboxes I got set up (3-4 of them).

It's even went to such an extent that I couldn't activate my EUKHost forum account because even that email apparently failed to reach my inbox. Moments before, I specifically asked a friend to send an email with a fake business proposal, which arrived in my inbox properly. I had to use my free gmail account to active the forum account, because my paid-for email account apparently isn't working. How embarrassing.

Now the important bit: Since the staff always asks me the same thing (to provide the sender and contents of a blocked email), I will will have to point something out. It is impossible for me to do that, because if the email never reaches me, I can not know who sent it and what they wrote. It is my opinion that if you advertise EMAIL hosting along any shared hosting plan, there is no excuse to having it inoperative.

The bottom line is, I am tired of chasing people around, verifying every message here and there just because of some overzealous spam filter somewhere. I've already set up SpamAssasin to the lowest protection setting but that apparently hasn't helped. Other than increasing the number of actual spam emails reaching my inbox. I've also turned off AUTO-DELETE and no other filters are set anywhere.

Now, I will soon be faced with a choice whether I want to renew my hosting package with EUKHost or search for a more suitable soluion. Right now, I'm afraid I'm inclined towards the "more suitable solution" because of the rather unhelpful support and recurring problems with EUKHost.

1) Domain Name: flightsim-pro.com

2) Server Name and IP address: Viking (I think)

3) Description of problem: Described above

4) Anything you might have done which may have caused the problem: Not that I am aware of

5) Anything you have done already, to try and resolve the problem: Yes, as described above. Tried disabling any sort of email filtering I could think of. It did not help.

6) Any additional information you think is relevant: All is written above.

Kind regards,
Ivan/Maximus
