Default Really starting to get pi$$ed off now.

over the past 14 days, my website has been down more often than an impotent old man. Nearly every time i try to contact the online supprt department, i usually never get through, however if i goto the sales department, i can always get through straight away.
Im told constantly that this wont happen again etc etc, and it invariably does.

Do you not have mailing lists? how long does it take to CC an e-mail to all clients on a server? Ive had just about enough of this, i dont care wether or not your improvinmg the servers or adding more security, why can you not shedule it, and inform your customers first??????????????????????????????

once more, and i swear i`m gonna shift host, normally the service is fine, but lately ive been pissed around that much, i`m sick of it.

do something about it!

and to add to that, an earlier version of the database has been restored, new customer donot exists, old orders are now showing as pending, and new orders have dissappeared.

absolute pi$$take.

not happy at all........................................tech support cant even be arsed to answer, 4th time i have had to go through sales to get support, which is just wrong, spend the money on getting the custom, but skimp on the cash to support the custom is very wrong.

Server was swapped in the afternoon as the OS on old server was compromised. Our system admin who was taking care of transfer didn't initiate fresh transfer of databases with rsync so I have requested him to make a fresh transfer of mysql databases on new server.

Our staff strength is 50% on weekends so you may have faced problems in communicating on livechat. If you see any problems after 30 minutes then let me know those.

look, i understand that these things happen sometime, but in the past two weeks, it seems every two days my website has had one problem or another, in the end things have been sorted out, but like anyone else, there is only so much i can put up with, and its not just been at the weekends where i have experienced problems getting hold of tech support staff.

This really has caused a major major headache, firstly orders alread done reappeared, then disappeared, then orders made in the mean time have been lost, now its back to how it should of been, and more orders have appeared, and been lost.

absolute nightmare.

granted, hopefully things are back up and running now, having cleared most of the stuff, and i do understand things goe wrong, but please please if it happens again, i`ll go postal!!!!

thank you

I can understand your frustration but its a Server and you cannot expect a server to run smoothly for months and years as you have services running on it which are accessible for everyone on web. If all ports are firewalled on the server then there wont be any problem with it as no one would be able to connect to the server.

FTP service was targeted on the server as the hacking kids were not able to create problems though web service or php. They have put lots of efforts to find a bug in ftp service and it seems that they are highly paid by online pharmacy companies to inject websites using ftp service.

All problems are sorted now as the new server is running latest secure version of pure-ftp. Our CTO needs few days to implement certain things to ensure that such things don't occur again in future. We cannot depend on internal security of softwares like pure-ftp. Last year pro-ftpd was targeted and cpanel.net had sent a news to all cpanel users to switch to pure-ftp. Now they will need to find some other ftp software to embed with cpanel as people have managed to crack pure-ftp as well.
