Server Down?
My site is on the "manchester" server and it has been downg for quiet a while, now. Each time I chat with your liveperson.net people, they give me different answers. First time it's soft restart the server. Then it's network difficulties.
I was guaranteed 99.99% uptime. I haven't used the site for a month yet. It's already down. It's down for a long time.
I do not like to complain. But, please, someone keep up to their promise.
my site is albkry.com.
thank you much.

We had inbound DDoS attack of 1.2 Gbps on a server hosted in same subnet as that of manchester.eukhost.com. This volume made it extremely difficult for us to troubleshoot due to which it took some extra time for us to pin point targeted server.
We've managed to null-route traffic of server responsible for this problem and all other servers have come online besides manchester. One of our Engineer is working on this problem and Manchester should be online in few minutes.

Manchester had 2 hours network outage due to this problem, but we've done our best to get this sorted quickly.

Uptime is usually done by how long the server is up and not necessarily for http or other services. This is the industry standard way of doing it.

Well would you then class if email is working but sites don't load as the downtime? If you go down the services route you have to then decide which services count. What happens if you're running a streaming server on a VPS which you've installed personally and that goes down? Does that count as downtime?
Because of everything like this, providing the server is up and running, this is classed as uptime even if one service is down. On a personal computer, providing Windows is running you would treat it as up even if programmes like Word were being troublesome.

If you can supply your domain name I'll try from where I am. It could be if you've logged in several times incorrectly, the firewall might have blocked you.

Your VPS was using 100% CPU resources and thats the reason it was suspended. Detailed information was given to you in email.
As Nick had mentioned in his email, there's nothing much we can do for uptime once you try to use more than allocated resources.

Support should be able to help you find the run-away program. Also, if you need more CPU usage, you could upgrade to a semi-dedicated.
