Server problems since the weekend

We are hosted on a shared Windows Server (I believe Maverick) that was upgraded or had some maintenance work carried out this weekend.
Since then we have experienced problems with our website not connecting to our database.

Please can you advise what has been changed config wise that has caused this problem.
