Default Slow email?

Client called me this morning to say that although his email is being sent, its very, very slow.

He appears to be getting delays in some cases that can be as long as a few hours before emails he sends are delivered.

He is also getting these messages too:-

Quote:
-----Original Message-----
From: Mail Delivery System [mailto:]
Sent: 04 November 2007 09:37
To:
Subject: Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection:
host mx2.mail.ukl.yahoo.com [217.12.11.64]: 421 Message from
(91.186.0.3) temporarily deferred - 4.16.50. Please refer to
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/defer/defer-06.html:
retry timeout exceeded
Could someone take a look at this or should I raise a support ticket?.

Thanks.

I think it would be a good idea to raise a support ticket with 'support [at] eukhost.com' or from http://support.eukhost.com. It's either network problems or the server has a high load at the moment.

Also, never post any email addresses in plain format as spambots love that.

Also, when in cPanel I click on Submit a support request, it comes up with:-

The System Admin has not configured this feature yet.

Please don't use the built in helpdesk as that is not monitored. The main helpdesk is located at http://support.eukhost.com.

Hello There,

Alex P is already on top of this. He will update here shortly. Please raise a support ticket for us to help you or email the support team directly. That way, we would be able to jump in to sort out your problems far quicker. Thank you

All of this is disabled by the server admins. To use the eUKhost support you can email support[@]eukhost.com or by opening a ticket from their site. Alternatively, if you need to create your own support system, there are different programs which can be installed from Fantastico.

Matthew has replied to your ticket with a request to have the nameservers point to ours. Do let us know if you need help with that. We would be glad to help out

I'm getting the 421 error from Yahoo servers too.
Has there been any progress on this issue please?

Thanks Nick!
Good luck with that - I was once a BT Yahoo customer, so I know exactly how useless its so-called "support" is!

I am having the same problems (and raised a support ticket 3 days ago).

The problem is sending to Yahoo mail servers. As BT Internet and BT OpenWorld both use Yahoo, this is affecting a number of users.

How long do these things normally take to get resolved?

Thanks

It will depend on both companies. No matter how fast eUKhost work unfortunately I imagine it will take Yahoo! a little more time to respond. As there is no way of telling how Yahoo! is progressing with the issue it is impossible to tell unless Yahoo! directly give an ETA .

Exactly!
I know from experience that EukHost are very quick to sort problems. BT and all its variants are a waste of space. I should imagine that Eukhost are being told to clean out their cookies and disable their firewalls at this very moment!

(That's the standard BT response to any issue, btw!)
