I feel like I'm playing devil's advocate here!

I had a look at Agusta's DNS records and it's similarly configured to Viking in that the SPF record's IP addresses do not match that of the server?!

The server IP is at Rapidswitch (I thought they had all been moved to Maidenhead)?? The IPs in the SPF records are at Maidenhead, with two different companies and are exactly the same as those on Viking — this to me defies logic! Am I missing the plot here completely? It looks like eUKhost are using a generic SPF record for all their servers and I'm feeling that's a mistake based upon my own server's settings ...

Q: Surely "My server requires authentication" would be on in Noel's email client or the Gmail recipient (agusta -> gmail) would have been similarly affected?

Update: all my Yahoo-bound traffic is still being delivered without exception.

Domainkeys validating ok now, and mail not being flagged as "Bulk" by Yahoo, but still long delays:

I was using RoundCube web mail.

I don't use Outlook, I'm a SeaMonkey person, but I have not set it up for this account. I have forwarding set up in web mail.

My main requirement is to send automated mail to verify signup requests on a web page.

I even considered adding a disclaimer "For security reasons we can not accept yahoo email addresses" - misleading but essentially true.

Unfortunately, I think this is going to have to be the case for many companies and organisations. Like Hotmail, Yahoo will become "persona non grata" for email sign-ups.

Remember that you'll need to include btinternet and btopenworld addresses in your disclaimer. As well as any other domains that use Yahoo!

An update - I just sent 7 messages in quick succession to my Yahoo account, to test. Six arrived immediately, and 1 was delayed by a couple of minutes at most.
All mail from my main domain on Viking were "passed" by domainkeys.
One message from my sub-domain on Viking arrived immediately, but there was the permerror (no key) in the domainkeys field.
The one message from my domain on liverpool also arrived immediately, despite not having Domainkeys configured.
Go figure!

Well of course your e-mails are getting delayed then. Sending e-mails in sucsession will only make providers like Yahoo/hotmail think your a spammer, and block any incoming e-mails.

LOL
Please read my post carefully - I sent them in quick succession - THEY ALL ARRIVED!!!!
What's more, I sent them in quick succession from different email addresses on the same domain (mostly), one from a sub-domain and one from a separate domain.
And if sending messages in quick succession is a trigger for spam, then god help us all! We may as well go back to writing letters!
Just to clarify, NOT sending them in quick succession had no effect previously - they were blocked and/or delayed regardless of how quickly or slowly they were sent!
This is progress - please don't knock it!

Hello Noel,

If you send emails from webmail then Domainkeys and SPF record wont have anything to do as webmail emails are sent using nobody@agusta.eukhost.com

I need to know if your outlook emails have any problem now after we've got this Domainkeys and SPF setup for your domain. I made one test account on your domain and sent few emails on Yahoo for testing purpose and all went out immediately.

I have done similar tests from Nigel's domain as well as Gary's domains and this has never happened to me. I am trying to find out why this happens to your test emails only.

Well if it doesn't get fixed by the time I'm ready to go live (which could be ages yet) then, regrettably, I'll have no choice but to move to another hosting company. I don't want to do this because I like the way eukhost do things. But I don't want to exclude such a large number of potential customers either.

OK I'll set it up and do a test, but I'll use SeaMonkey because I don't have outlook installed.

Just sent a couple more tests.

Both arrived almost immediately.

Will send a few more over the course of the evening and see how it goes.

Tried to manually configure seemonkey but could not make it work at all. So I powered up my "spare" PC, which has oulook express on it. deleted all the account settings and then used the automatic configuration script from the webmail login page. - (Auto-Configure Microsoft Outlook Express® for IMAP Access (SSL))

Once I set up the email address properly I could use it for sending and receiving mail and could see all my imap mail folders on Agusta.

Sent test mail to two accounts; one @yahoo.co.uk and one @o2.co.uk. The mail to o2 was deliverd straight away, but it's not arrived on yahoo as yet (about an hour)

Maybe I did something wrong, getting a bit tired. I'll try again in the morning.

Possibly. It now seems to be a case by case basis with some peoples test emails always getting through and some peoples test emails not getting through or getting delayed. There must be a difference in the settings between different users somewhere.

I've now tested from all the locations I previously mentioned (ie: Webmail, Outlook at home, Thunderbird Portable...)
So far, fingers crossed, everything is being delivered straight away - and has been all day.
I just need confirmation from a third-party Yahoo account that all is good for them, but at the moment it looks like it's solved - or at least fixed for now!
Thanks very much for all the help here - especially Mark and Eukhost for not giving up.

Nige, been having pretty much the same thing happen all day here. Yahoo emails are being delivered almost instantly for me too.

Just sent two more, last one was 20 mins late to arrive ( a big improvement from last night ).

Will send another couple in the next few hours and see what happens, will report back.

Do you guys at EUK ever sleep??!!!.....LOL!!!

Email still arriving fine, last two were 30 mins late, but I reckon thats acceptable, for now. At least they are getting through quicker than last nights ones were, some taking hours.

Will send another few tests tonight and continue to do so tomorrow.
