use mail.gwlogic.co.uk as your incoming/outgoing mail server.

if it does not work, create a new temporary mail account on one of the domains and give me username/password. Send an email to the newly ceated account as well from some othe account. Then i'll try to access it from here and let you know. I am online for 30 minutes appx.

Okay, just set up a test email for you.

Details:-

test@gwlogic.co.uk

password = test

I've sent a TEST email to it from another email account.

I used mail.gwlogic.co.uk as incoming and outgoing mail servers, no authentication.

What server port numbers did you use?.

I have Incoming Server (POP3) set at 110 and Outgoing Server (SMTP) set at 26, no authentication on the test address and it still wont work for me.

*EDIT* The "Sending" part of the operation appears ok, its the recieving part that throws errors up:-

Although upon trying "Test Settings" in Outlook, it still fails to log into the server.

I did not change default settings. POP 110, SMTP 26. I hope you're not using AVG antivirus. Maybe your ISPs DNS is not updated yet. In that case IP in place of outgoing/incoming should've worked. Try to ping mail.gwlogic.co.uk it should resolve to 91.186.0.3 If not, the DNS has not propaged to your ISP yet.

Well it should work. It is pointing to the correct IP. Which antivirus are you using? does it interfere in mail access(most Avs do), try disabling mail antivirus part just to check?

BTW, are the error codes same?

I dont see anything wrong with email service for any of your domains. all emails are reaching your mailboxes but it seems that there's something wrong on your end due to which you are not able to send or receive emails. have you installed any new antivirus recently ?

Nope I dont use AVG, been using AntiVir for months with no problems.

I thought it might have been something to do with this actual PC, but I have just tried another PC on the same network and its doing exactly the same. I'm just about to fire up a laptop and check that.

Even I was not getting a PING reply untill a few minutes ago. Maybe blocked at outer/gateway firewall. Nw I am. But that has nothing to do with mail send/receive.

This is really strange.

All of a sudden in the last few minutes the problems have been resolved.

Certainly on the gwlogic.co.uk domain it has, everything there working fine.

I will need to go through a hefty list of individual email addys for each of my domains and check them all but its only just started working in the past few minutes?.

there's nothing wrong on server side so need to find out what exactly is stopping Gary from sending or receiving emails. Antivurus is the most common reason but lets wait and see how things work from his laptop.

Sorry to butt in again, but mail from Viking to btinternet addresses is failing again, as before:

Delay reason: SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection:
host mx2.bt.mail.yahoo.com [217.146.188.189]:
421 Message from (91.186.0.3) temporarily deferred - 4.16.50. Please refer to http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/defer/defer-06.html

Waste of time having a domain at all really, isn't it? May as well just stick to free accounts and dump them when they get spammed! Obviously, having a free yahoo account is as much a waste of time too!

We have contacted BTInternet & Yahoo several times. But we have had no response what-so-ever from them. We tried changing the mailserver IP, but it got blocked again. We do not mind changing even the subnet. But if it is going to get blocked for the same reason each time, then the whole exercise is rendered meaningless.

We are not trying to shift the blame over to external parties. All clients would aknowledge the fact that we at eUKhost have never pushed the blame on anyone else. But this time time we are in a bit of a blackhole just because we are not getting any response what-so-ever.

To quote figures, Yahoo has been contacted on 8 occasions - we have filled up the necessary form all the times. Server logs have been sent. Yet there has been no response from them.

BT also has been as cold in getting back to us. We would love to get this sorted out ASAP. Unfortunately, we are unable to push the other parties concerned

Well it seems like eUKhost have been more than cooperative in trying to get the problem sorted - definitely seems to be Yahoo!s unwillingness or inability to solve the problem above anything else!

I'm in the same boat as Nige.

Client sent me this today:-

Quote:
Delay reason: SMTP error from remote mail server after initial
connection:
host mx2.mail.ukl.yahoo.com [217.12.11.64]: 421 Message from
(91.186.0.3) temporarily deferred - 4.16.50. Please refer to
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/defer/defer-06.html
Am just about to submit a support ticket.

I appreciate all the efforts you guys at EUK are going to on this, I really do. It looks like its out of your hands so to speak until Yahoo get their collective fingers out and sort it.

To be honest and please there's no offence intended EUK folks as I know you are trying everything to resolve this, but one of my clients in particular needs to be able to send and receive to Yahoo and BT accounts regularly because of the nature of his business, and if he cannot, I'm in danger of him going elsewhere to look for a website hosting and email provider.

I seriously hope we can get this issue resolved soon.

I'm puzzled as to why its manifested itself in the first place though?. Everything was fine up until a short time ago. Why on earth are they blocking mailservers from EUK?. Is it Viking in particular they are blocking or other servers also?.

Again, as always, appreciate the efforts EUK are going to on this issue.
