Yep - they were all down, databases offline and now all back on.

Glad to hear that they are back on now. Must have just been a temporary problem with you being able to contact the server. Either the server must have had a problem temporarily or there was some problem inbetween you and your server that was not allowing you to contact it.

I had this problem late this afternoon on some website hostings hosted on puma. I've got another currently affecting stneotsfc.com (can't remember server name). I'm aware that where I live in Cambridgeshire there was heavy rain and a thunderstorm mid-afternoon, so could be connected to this.

EDIT: The website hosting has since returned, I'm guessing the servers were being restarted.

Stneotsfc.com is hosted on the typhoon server (typhoon.eukhost.com). I have just tried to access it and it works fine. I do believe however typhoon was experiencing some problems yesterday, and this isolated incident could be related.

Eaccelarator was installed on Typhoon last night so there was some problem with apache service last night and those post installation problems were sorted to restore proper functioning of apache.

Puma was rebooted before 5 hours as it was completely inaccessible from our end and everything was back to normal after reboot.

Quite simply

To be honest, that problem was almost tied in with the other problems (all caused by one thing) - and this incident was isolated as it hardly ever happens.
