What's happened to eUKhosts legendary uptime?
I've been with EUK now since February and up until the server move I have been bowled over with the reliable service and uptime.
However, since the server move the reliability and uptime does not appear to have been as good.
I have been monitoring my website hosting using siteuptime.com. Using their basic service, which checks the website hosting every half hour there have been 12 occastions during May and June when it has been unable to contact the website hosting.
http://www.siteuptime.com/statistics...&&UserId=62784
I appreciate that there is a health warning that should go with the siteuptime.com %age uptime statistic given in the above link:
It only checks the website hosting every half hour, thus one registered outage counts as half an hour when it works out the percentage uptime - which is very inaccurate, as i'm sure that many outages are shorter than this. However, it is worth noting that on 12 of these half hourly checks the website hosting has been unavailable - and that there may have been many other outages that weren't detected by this half hourly check.
Is there any reason there has been this degradation in service? Are there problems with the new data centre? I'm beginning to wonder if the uptime as dropped below the 99.95% uptime guarantee.

What server are you on?
One of the servers (Merlin) has a dodgy processor which is being replaced within the near future.

Hmm, you will have to confront eUKHost about this issue.

Personally, and I can only comment on the service I have recieved - there has been no degredation of service since the move.
Unfortunately you seem to be experiencing problems - have you tried contacting eUKhost support either by ticket at support@eukhost.com or by starting a LiveChat through the main website hosting ( www.eukhost.com)? They are able to sort most problems very efficiently and your concerns will be there number 1 priority.

VC10 had downtime last month due to migration as that was the only downtime it had last month for 3:30 Hrs. It had no other downtime for last 3 months but it went down today for some reason and our sys admins seem to have sorted it now.
There has been no other problem with VC10.

eUKHost will continue to advertise 99.99% uptime a month, as based on their uptime statistics in 2003.

I agree, I don't think we can complain about uptime of 99.5% (which is the lowest of all the figures from the links - even that is out of this world great!) - dont forget also the figures are affected by the scheduled downtime for the Maidenhead move so although that is downtime it was prewarned and occurances like moving datacentre dont happen every week!

Eidolon,
Is webhostingstuff's statistic not just for the server where eukhost.com is hosted?
What about the servers you, I and others have website hostings hosted on?
I don't suppose webhostingstuff monitors all eukhost's servers.
For, example it doesn't indicate any downtime during the recent Maidenhead move.
So what value are webhostingstuff's statistics, if any?

That is indeed a sensible question KellyJ but there are many sources that have been mentioned, all independant of each other, which are all reporting the uptime as above the 99.5% mark at the very least so I think we can rest assure that all the different monitoring tools wouldn't be misreporting the uptime!

i dont understand why you all cry about uptime... nothing on the internet is 100% uptime.
