Default Any idea when windows server email wll be working?

Hi,

I'm on the windows server and my email has been down since yesterday. Online chat this morning said you couldn't open your SMTP port - any idea when this will be fixed as email out still not working.

Thanks,

What server are you hosted on? Do you have a test email account which we can run diagnostic tests on?

Hi,

Not sure of server IP, but it's the shared windows server that has been down a lot recently!

Have just set up test@myndosltd.com, password is test.

Thanks,

That server will be Tucano then. As mentioned previously, migration away from this server will be taking place ASAP. SMTP isn't working for me here either, but POP3 is. Please open a ticket with 'windows [at] eukhost.com' and request for migration, please mention that you are on Tucano and your domain. You will be migrated to Plesk server meaning that not everything can be migrated, but support will try their hardest. HostingController will be phased out more or less completely by the end of September.

Hang on. I'm in a similar situation - no email, and it's an urgent problem. If migrating off the server is the only resolution, why isn't everyone being automatically migrated off?

The migration is being done manually to get as much transferred as possible. And people are gradually being moved with it being done by hand. People who are having problems however are being moved first as HC is being annoying at the minute and Plesk is more stable.
I believe there was an email sent out to all those using HC....

I would think it would have gone out to the email account you signed up with initially. This is why it's often recommended to use an external one for that so if there is an outage, it's still easy to get in touch and find out what's going on.

I certainly never received any such email. My primary account email address is the affected one, but I have a secondary email with a different company - common sense would dictate that, given they've got problems with email, they'd send to both.

I didn't receive an email either (registered with hotmail).

Anyway, requested a transfer to Plesk as advised via tech support email last night ( ticket [ #BTV-37251-382]) but have still had no reply. Could someone at Eukhost please give me an idea of when the migration will have taken place becuse I urgently need to send email from the affected account!

Thanks,

Default Anyone heard anything?

Has anyone heard anything more about the situation with the email?

I really need to know as have had all my clients asking me when the problem will be sorted. Just a rough idea (hours or days) would be a start so at least I can answer them realistically.

Thanks.

I don't know any more than you about when the email is going to be back up however what I suggest you do is if you're on HC, put in a request to transfer to a Plesk server a.s.a.p. This will mean all the hassle of your website being moved (it's going to be a mandatory move anyway) will be done now while you're having problems. Tech support can do this for you but if you bought your domain name with someone else, you will have to update your nameservers. I'd check with tech support about whether they can move any emails stored on the server (it depends whether you've been using IMAP or POP3 to connect) but I'm sure they'll be able to clarify.

And I would think someone from tech support will be on here soon to give an update.

Thanks JC.

I did actually put a request in yesterday morning (FKW-54697-533) but not heard back from anyone yet. Any ideas what the nameservers are for the new server?

I've been moved on to a new server now and the nameservers I was told to use are:
ns1.ukhostsupport.com
ns2.ukhostsupport.com

Try getting in touch at 'windows [at] eukhost.com' if you haven't already. That should get you through to the windows support team.

Seriously now can someone from EUKhost please post a message here to give us some indication of when email will be restored. I am getting phone calls every 5 minutes at least from clients asking me and I can't keep saying it should be soon.

Tucano is currently being dealt with. I suggest you email 'windows [at] eukhost.com' asking for an immediate migration to a Plesk server. I saw you mentioned that you moved away from Plesk as you weeren't able to get spam filtering, you should be able to get spam filtering on our new Plesk servers. I understand your frustration with this, and the Windows admins are getting very frustrated by this as well, Tucano has major problems as we can't get all services to run together, one is always crashing - that just gives you an idea of how bad HC is becoming, and an indication of how buggy it could get in the near future.

Outgoing emails wont work from this server. You will need to get your accounts migrated on plesk to restore SMTP service. We are moving all accounts manually so you will need to communicate with our windows support team to get your accounts migrated.

It may take some time for them to reply but they are dealing with migrations of 2 big Hostingcontroller servers so you will need to wait for them to reply.
