Default Kingair - Data loss

I believe that there has been a problem with the Kingair server. I tried to connect a little while ago and none of my sites were available.

Whilst the server is now available, I have definitely lost data. It would seem that what-ever the problem, eUKhost had to resolve it by restoring from a backup. Not a huge problem for me, since I have backups of the updates I made at the weekend.

I would be grateful if eUKhost could confirm that there has been a restore and also let me know what the policy is in terms of notifying customers that a restore has occurred (If I hadn't noticed, it might have been somewhat embarrassing).

Of course, if there has not been a restore, then I'm at a loss to explain where my updates went (possibly an infestation of data pixies......you've got to watch them!)

Did I say that the server was back? It's gone again!

Thanks,

Mark

I would assume that your problem and this problem - http://www.eukhost.com/forums/f10/kingair-down-4832/ - are one and the same.

Although there was temporary data loss, as confirmed in the thread linked to above, the reported effects (also explained in the thread above) were only temporary and any data that had been reported as missing had reappeared.

Have you opened a support ticket regarding this issue? Are the files / updates still not present?

Hope that helps .

Hi,

Absolutely right. I started this thread before finding the one to which you refer. I did look for an existing thread but completely missed that one.

Everything is back to normal, with the usual prompt eUKhost service.

I'm not normally one for praising companies but my experience of eUKhost has been very, very positive. Yes, there have been problems but they are resolved quickly and efficiently.

I have to say that the on-line chat facility is superb. Immediate one to one chat with technically skilled people who can resolve the problem while you wait.

Thanks Mark..

It is really nice to hear a few words of appreciation from a customer hosted on KingAir...

Not a problem - its easy to miss one thread out of thousands . The main thing was that your files were there and I'm glad that they were and everything is up and running for you now. Good luck with your site .
