PHP Form emailing now fails

Hi All - I had a web page on a customer site that had a form in to complete and hit submit. It essentially sends the contents of the form in an email. All fine and working.

They emailed me today to say it is no longer working.

The error message is -

Warning: mail() [function.mail]: Failed to connect to mailserver at "localhost" port 2625, verify your "SMTP" and "smtp_port" setting in php.ini or use ini_set() in E:\HostingSpaces\comports\vrs.comports.net\wwwroot \contact.php on line 117

Any idea what could be causing this..?

EUK - Have you changed anything on the servers that might cause this issue.?

Hello,

Please use mail.domainname.com (Replace domain name with your domain name) for the SMTP server and use SMTP port 25 or 587. Please make the necessary changes and then try to check. If you are still getting the same error, let me know the file name in which you stored the mail settings so that I can verify it.

Hello - Not sure what you mean here as I do not specify anywhere the server or smtp details.

I am simply using the built in mail() function of php and it used to work fine on this very page.

I am using the standard dnp windows hosting package on your servers and so have no control over the php settings you set up.

Please advise.

Which version of PHP are you using? ie: PHP4 or PHP5? Try switching it from 4 to 5 & it'd work..
