Sending E-Mail on Shared Windows hosted server

hi,

I'm doing some activation e-mail stuff with my website hosting at the moment...

I need to be able to send mail from the server and of course that means I need an SMTP server,

Is there one as standard on these machines??? if so what's would be the address?

if not... what's the solution....

There is a mail/smtp server already installed on the local machine. Your best bet would be to use the names 'localhost' or 'servername.eukhost.com'.

Yes, SMTP server is installed on all of our windows servers. It's required for sending browser based emails using mail components. You can use, 'localhost', 'mail.domain.com' or server hostname as the host address.
