Is there anything you can put in place to allow people ftp access to their data, (databases and website files), I currently feel like my hands are tied with no viable solutions being offered...
Another update on how the restore is going would be good, in theory you shouldn't be far from being finished now?

I agree entirely I have am moving 3 of my 27 websites over to another host, I use 5 different hosintg compnaines in the Uk in order to spread my risk as I support 146 different websites. They've seriously let their customer's down this time.

This is crazy now. I used to host one of the websites on this server in Florida ... until the hurricane took out their complete systems, no power, flooding etc. It only took them 24 hours to get all servers back up and running in their disaster recovery website running on generators.
That's why my client wanted to move the website back to a UK host ... sp here we are!

Hello,
We apologize for inconvenience.
We have attached new hard drive with fresh windows 2003 install and we are moving all data from old Hard Drive to New Hard Drive. The data transfer is now approximately 60% through.

Is there an estimated time for the remaining 40% and the server to be up?

I would certainly like to move this account to another server. I have a couple of accounts here and I administer a couple of others and this is by far the most troublesome. This is the only account I have on this particular server.
However it's not convienient for me to move at the moment, can I move it in a few weeks?

Yes, you can request for migration any time.

Different scenarios take different length of time. If a hurricane went through the datacenter, it's not exactly hard to fix as your server most-likely wasn't damaged, just the electricity feeds - which are dead easy to replace if you have backup power substations.
When a server breaks, the problem is much worse, it requires a lot more effort, a lot more technicians, and a lot more skill to resolve the problem.

The datacentre was under 1.2 metres of water, all servers in the water, and there was no electrcity for 10 miles hence having to use petrol generators.

Shouldn't be a problem if they had any sense to build there server rooms on raised platforms which most datacenters do.
Anyway, American Web Hosts are really bad, they oversell like hell, are more unreliable in general than UK web hosting companies.
I'm not denying the fact it may have taken then a short period of time to resolve the problem, but let me assure you that eukhost is current facing a really big problem which requires a lot more effort to fix.
Anyway, if there are in a flood/hurricane plane, they should take measures to avoid problems.

RebuildExpress may take more than 12 hours for restoration of all websites on this server. If you wish to get your websites moved on a Plesk Server right now then please open a ticket for our windows support department from http://support.eukhost.com
Restore Utility of hostingcontroller is super slow and it wont allow to keep any other service working on the server unless the restore process is completed.
Please consider ticket option only as our senior windows system admins wont be answering livechats today.

can I just ask how confident you are of getting everything back online now? I know this is obviously a large problem that is proving very difficult to solve, but after so many estimates of when the server will be back up that haven't come to fruition I cannot afford to tell my clients that it will be up in 12 hours if it won't.
Also I am on a windows server because the websites I have on there are built in asp/.net and in use either access or ms sql dbs, I am guessing none of this will work with plesk??

Your websites will still work as you will still be on a Windows server; you would just be using a different control panel, Plesk instead of HostController.

I know this may be difficult for some, and I know a lot of you will have annoyed and stressed clients due to this event, and certainly be annoyed yourself, but I'm asking you to please be patient, as eUKhost is making every effort to restore the server as quickly as possible - by posting more messages in this topic asking when the server will be back online will not speed things up.

this is getting silly...
This is the longest outage I've ever experienced. What is the current eta?
Will all folder permissions/paths, custom error pages, IIS settings, databases, email setups, webmail and admin urls all the same.
This is a major headache.
