Same thing here. One of my website hosting has been restored. Control panel, FTP & emails seem ok, but the website hosting is unreachable via http. Looks like it's pointing to the wrong folder or something!
My customer is now really p####d off with me, blaming me for not doing my job properly. Great stuff!
As for the ticket, well, I suspect that the tech support is being flooded with queries on what the hell is going on.

I have now got my Microsoft SQL Server database working - not sure about mysql. I spoke to support about it over live chat and the impression I got was that they were having to manually reattatch the databases. I'm also pleased the the database appears to be more recent than the backup made on the 25th (I unfortunantly spent all day on the 26th doing database upgrades), and I cannot see of anything that should be there, but isn't.

When connecting to the server via SQL Server Management Studio, I can only see 7 databases + my own whereas before the server went down, there were many pages of databases, which would back up my theory they're manually reattatchign them so you'll need to ask to have your db manually reattatched.

I have had to send eukhost a list of all of my MySQL Server database connection details for them to re-set up the connections. This is happening slowly. I guess it's probably the same for mssql, but I don't have MSSQL Server databases, so I'm not sure what the score on this is I'm afraid.

We are dealing with Permission and DSN problems right now. We have to manually reset passwords of all account and some modifications have to be done in IIS Web Server settings as well. numbers of accounts on this server is high and it is taking some time to manually sort out problems with all accounts.

Default lost emails

One other major concern is that emails have been wiped from mailboxes. I have a number of clients who rely on webmail, including some who will have lost orders which have been delivered to these mail boxes. Can these emails be recovered? Obviously this needs to be done without the new emails in the mailboxes being lost.

The server is currently set to American date formats

I have 3 website hostings, all use MS SQL.
1 of my website hostings is now working, but only because they have now restored an older backup before I upgraded that website hosting to use SQL Server instead of Access

My other 2 website hostings still don't have any database restored what so ever.

Plus I have found some folders in my FTP which I don't have overwrite permissions.

Although my mailboxes had been recreated (thus losing emails, luckily mine aren't majorly important), I had to reconfigure all the settings for them again

Default mailboxes

Munchio, what settings for the mailboxes have you had to reconfigure? The mailboxes seem to exist, so passwords are obviously in place - do I have to re-set up mailboxes which are catchalls or forwarders?

Perhaps this will get done in the fullness of time...

1. Emails cannot be recovered as Rebuilt Express does not backup emails though the email address has been restored.

2. As always HC restore process did not do the job as expected. Hence there are alot of things we will be doing it manully for each website hosting.

3. MySQl has been restored and FTP problem has been sorted as well. DSN has been restored. All the MDB Access database that had rewite/access to web user will need to be added again manully.

4. We are in processes of restoring the MSSQL from backups but we will need the user name and password of your database to windows @ eukhost.com as this has to be done manually.

5. Sites currently restored are of 5th Aug and but we will have the latest backups and we are in process to retoring the updated files manually.

6. Any one who is having problems is requested to please email us on windows @ eukhost.com we are dealing with the problems one by one.

Thank you for all the co-operation that we have received from you all.

Latest MSSQL databases are being restored too. I appreciate your patience.

Thanks munchio. I guess I'll have to trawl through my accounts then and find out i've got any settings which need to be done. *sigh*

Eukhost - are there any plans for email settings (forwarders etc.) to be restored? Shall I hold fire?

Well, I'm not impressed at all.
One of my website hosting is still not running after all that time. I'm waiting for my ticket to be eventually picked and acted upon.
Also, my emails form another domain hosted on a different server stopped reaching my mailbox.... Another ticket waiting...
It starting to be a bit much, and I'm dreading to see what the next problem will be!

Yeah, it's totally sick. I don't know whether to be glad that I'm not the only one in this boat or not. I've got about 3 tickets waiting myself.

Evidently HC has got a lot to answer for. It has been buggy from the word go. Perhaps eukhost are making a general move to Plesk, but hell I can't face the thought of moving my website hostings over to another server. I'd prefer to re-develop everything with php and MySQL Server and move to linux. Windows servers have always been problematic for me, but this is ridiculous.

Good luck chroux and everybody else! Hope it all settles down soon.

At least the email issue is sorted now, pfew! But all emails sent since last night are gone...

Just hope the website hosting will be back on soon, my mobile phone is ringing every 2 minutes from people asking for an update.

I am now very upset about this incident. When I posted my earlier post (#63), I had the latest version of my database and so was just waiting for the files to be restored so I could return my website hosting to normal. Now somehow since then, my database has been 'restored' to an older version, losing all the updates I spent most of the 26th and 27th making.

After 48 hours of downtime to try to make sure we didn't lose any data, my database has been wiped off the face of the earth not by a virus, but by a system administrator and at this point, I am seriously considering moving to another host unless some way can be found to recover the database, and make up for those 15 hours I which have now been wasted.

Please open a ticket with 'windows [at] eukhost.com' regarding this issue. Please include your domain name and database name, and any other details which you may find applicable.

At a guess it depends upon over what duration of time the uptime percentage is based on. For instance the percentage could be based on 'since that server went live', in which case the couple of days of disruption are unlike to affect it.
