Post Security - what is it & is it necessary ?

Security, in the computer industry, refers to techniques for ensuring that data stored in a computer cannot be read or compromised by any individuals without authorization.. In other words it's a task done in direction of preventing unauthorized access to a computer system or network by any unauthorized person or network.

The Internet uses several layers of technology to prevent unauthorized users from gaining access to the secure network... Internet security professionals manage a sophisticated networking architecture that includes screening/monitoring routers, filtering routers, and firewalls.

Most security measures involve data encryption and passwords. Data encryption is the translation of data into a form that is rather impossible to be read & understood by a human being without a deciphering mechanism. Encryption is the most effective way to achieve data security. To read an encrypted file, you must have access to a secret key or password that enables you to decrypt it. Unencrypted data is called plain text; encrypted data is referred to as cipher text.

A password is a secret word or phrase that gives a user access to a particular program or system. Your passwords are the keys you use to access personal information that you've stored on your computer and in your online accounts. Always remember, never REVEAL your password to anybody

If criminals or other malicious users steal this information, they can use your name to open new credit card accounts, apply for a mortgage, or pose as you in online transactions. In many cases you would not notice these attacks until it was too late...

Fortunately, it is not hard to create strong passwords and keep them well protected. There are several utilities available either inbuilt within the systems or on the internet, which help in creating such strong passwords...

Furthermore, we'll discuss about various other security measures to be taken by the host as well by the clients to achieve a clean & healthy service
