I just spoke to someone on MSN support. They advised that though we can now access C-Panel, not to alter anything as they're about to reload that side of things.

I hope that after this drive replacement things should be back to normal. It's only been the last 2 weeks or so that things have been bad and it's probably all HDD related,

Andrew

At least we do have a contact and are kind of being kept updated.
The last host I used took over a week to reply to e-mails then another 3 to 4 days to sort any problems.

Hello,

Please do not worry all information is being restored on the servers. Computers do break down and HDD failure is quite common.

Unlike many hosts we hold backup files in the event of this problem.

All systems have been restored databases are in the process now.

Thank you for your patience during these issues.

Kind Regards

Robert King

Can I open a can of worms?

I'm sure this website used to say it would give 99.9% uptime...

365 days in a year is 8760 hour per hour.

11 hours downtime / 8760 hours in a year * 100 = 0.125%

100% - 0.125% = 99.875% uptime.

hmmm... now, my maths could be wrong.....

Hello,

99.9% was based on performance of our servers in 2003. We try our very best to keep to these targets.

When something that is incontrolable such as HDD failure occurs we try our best to get the problem resolved right away.

We do apologise for such problems.

Kind Regards

Robert

Yeah, nps mate.

Only winding you up. I've had no problems to date - and this is a first time i've ever had the server go down longer than an hour. - These things happen very rarely and can't be helped I guess :P

I hope you guys are getting double time for working all day on a Sunday. :P

All websites and all services are working fine on the server and everything has been restored on the server as it was before 12 hours.

If you have any questions related to your account then please contact us on livechat.

Regards,
Mark.

My website is online, but I had 4 sql databases, and they are all missing when I look in control panel - that means my forums are completely dead.

Could you please tell me what's going on?

Default Time Zone

Hi EUK Admins,

I was wondering when you're likely to put the server back to the GMT timezone? I seem to recall all of my scripts working properly before and now they aren't. Running date at a shell gives me
Code:
Sun Jan 29 19:52:22 CST 2006
which is several hours out as we're running GMT here in the UK.

I asked someone on livechat about it and they informed me that I'd have to go to a dedicated plan as changing the timezone would affect the whole server. You're eUKhost so I would think it fairly expected that we would get a UK timezone without paying for a dedicated service plan!

Could someone please comment,

Andrew
