Default Mail Enable on Server 87.117.201.122

Due to a technical problem, the Mail Enable on Server 87.117.201.122 tucano.eukhost.com is configured to run on Port 2525, so the clients who are using Outlook Express and are facing problems with outgoing mails will need to change the outgoing port to 2525 in their Outlook Express configuration for normal functioning of mails.

Please follow the steps below to change the outgoing port in the Outlook Express configuration

Login to your Outlook Express >> Click on ‘Tools’ >> Accounts >> Select mail account from list >> click on ‘Properties “ Click on advance tab and change the outgoing port as 2525.

Would that also affect ASP code using Persits MailSender?
If so, what is the code to specify the new port?

Thanks,
Christophe

We apologize for inconvenience with this server but we have restored SMTP port back to 25. Please make necessary changes in your outlook configuration.

Incoming emails were having problem as sending mail servers send a "Hello !" message to server and our server needs to reply to that from port 25. This was not happening so customers were not receiving emails.

Mails which didn't arrive during this period have started coming now as they were stuck in mail queues of sending sources.

I don't really know what that meant but it does sound bad! I hope that it doesn't happen again. What, did you say mail server? Isn't it related to FTP if it's a problem with a mail server?

Hello,

Not related to this exact problem, but is there a reason that Mail Enable is not running on vigilant.eukdns.com? I am curious as to what one can do with the admin interface.

Thanks

No, I haven't yet told the helpdesk - it is not a necessity for me - I was just wondering if anyone knew why it wasn't working.

Thanks
