This might be an issue with my ISP (demon) as they've had some intermittent DNS issues for part of last week, however is anyone else experiencing problems in accessing sites on merlin?

Default 2.5 weeks uptime...

Seems Merlin had another hiccup just now... Still down at this very moment.
Lets see how long it takes before an official notice is put up.
Considering its been up for more than 2 weeks I will give a bit of time before the ranting starts

Is that the reason for Merlin being down?
If so, Nick J has this coming...

It would happen when earlier in the day I remembered I needed to make & download some backups. Still once it's back up I'll do my backups.

What I meant was Nick J is working to get the server back online. He is not the one who got it down . . . Our monitoring systems alerted us about the server, that is when he took over.

Merlin had a bad network cable. That is why the first reboot was not working. We have replaced the network cable now. There wont be further problems.

The server is safe, there is no harm what-so-ever. It was a trivial network cable which caused this.

eUKhost buy servers and all hardware from trusted brands like Dell, which are made in the UK and transported to the datacentre. This way we can be reassured that the hardware and machinery is of high quality, as we can't have hardware that breaks after 30 days, as customers won't be so pleased, as eUKhost values its customers satisfaction to a high degree.
