Default Problems on 'Merlin'

I was wondering if someone at eUKHost could provide an update as to the problems currently occurring on Merlin. I'm guessing it's not a simple problem as usually it seems to be a case of a few clicks and minutes and problems sorted.

Merlin seems to be somewhat unhappy with us as the CPU configuration is not so strong on Merlin and some existing customers on Merlin are getting good traffic recently which seems to keep the load from 1 - 2 most of the times.

I can get your websites moved on a new Quad Core Xeon server or you can wait till coming weekend as we will replace existing Merlin server with Quad Core Xeon. You wont face any downtime in this process.

No worries, I'm happy to wait until the weekend (which only a couple days away now). The problem only seems to have been noticable recently, occuring around 7:30am and going on a hissy. For me it's not a problem as most of the USA are a sleep and the rest are heading off to work. Full credit to support (or whoever at eUKHost) for being able to fairly quickly resolve the problem upon being notified on the occasions where I've contacted them.

I used to be on merlin and did notice the load on it gradually creeping up over the last 7 months. At least it is getting sorted at the weekend .

Angry

Tristar went down last Friday & now they tell me they don't have any daily back for ther server. So the only back up they could find was from 21/5/07. I must have spent at least 6-7 hours on the chat & the phone & no one seems to do any thing about it. No body seems to give a straight answer. I was in fact happy with their service I also moved my main business web websites to them. I lost 3 days woth of orders on my website & on top of that I had to redo my database manually by adding all the orders back on it. When i ask a simply question like why didn't you have a daily back up, no one can say why or why not. i am so fed with the whole attidude. i am thinking of moving to some one who will at least do a daily back up.

We don't have any server with this name. Let us know your domain name or IP address of your server for further investigation.

This is not our server. It is owned by webhosting.uk.com. You need to contact webhosting.uk.com's support team for more information.
